Just think that at 10pm next Tuesday we could be top of the league!!!!!. Torquay play Weymouth at plain Moor while Sutton were due to play Dover on Saturday. Next Tuesday Sutton are at home to.........

Yes and that gives us another game to get more injuries in and Sutton will have an 8 day rest (I am not trying to be negative but it just seems the way things are going at the moment).Hope the injuries picked up today are not too serious and we are in a position to go top next Tuesday what an incentive that would be. Although have to say that Weymouth will be no pushovers.

DWB, i dont understand your comments. As far as i can tell things are going well. 12 pts out of the last 15, 4 clean sheets during this time, sides around us faltering. Any team is subject to injuries. You cannot factor into the equation nobody has any control over.

Priceless victory today but at a cost as I fear like most of Torquays injuries Evans and Kimpioka won't be short term.

Evans couldn't jump for the ball and went off straight away - looked like a knee ligament problem, possibly similar to Whifields.

Its a strange old season though - I wouldn't be worrying about Sutton just yet - beating Weymouth might be not that straightforward. If Waters and Boden are up front we will have to rely on a goal from Covalan, or one of the defenders to win the game.

Dawlishmatt I quite agree that things are going well at the moment and long may that continue.I have been long advocating that we can win the league and I still believe that. I was just adding a note of caution in amongst yours (and my) optimism.
I know any team are subjected to injuries but it just seems that we are taking one step forward and 2 back at the moment with the injury situation. I have no doubt that with a fully fit squad, including the latest additions, we would have a great chance of finishing top!

Certainly if CLE is long term it's a real blow but let's see. Let's hope it's not. For those people who criticise the guy it's something we certainly don't want to run through - because no matter what their opinion - he is key.

Sutton have 1 win in 5. Why are we overly worried?????? Every team has wobbles. We might have another yet. Could it be that the pressure is getting to them?

They Sunderland loanee could be out for quite a while too. the manager continues to play Little out of position but at least he will be central midfield on saturday. Another 60mins for Wright saturday hopefully and then he will be ok to start each game. Boden, Waters and Umerah arent great but they will have to be a part of our season. whitfield is a massive loss too in an attacking part.

A great result today.
Would have taken 4 points from these two games tbh - to get 6 is great with two clean sheets.
Great to have DW back - what a difference he has already made.
Hats off the the players as well with so many players that would be in the team still missing.
Up the Gulls.

You can't fault the effort and battling and defensively we have been excellent, but it's incredibly frustrating watching us at the moment. Lots of short passing build up movements then we , especially certain individuals are caught in possession or give the ball away . When we get within 30 yards of goal we try to open up teams with the perfect pass or clever little ball - stop trying to play like Man City or England ! we aren't good enough for that !
A quicker ball in is sometimes required though you need the gambling and desire to get on the end of it - as happened with the Randell/Wright goal v Woking. So disappointing how we fail to make the keeper work game after game.

A major positive, currently, is that Torquay are once again winning matches with late goals. Always a good habit to have.

I am genuinely surprised by some of the comments made after today from We had two injuries that obviously altered our shape and game plan. Second half we had to play into the wind.
Yes our performance wasn't brilliant but most of the football played came from us.

Watch the goal again. We went for it. We had a lot of our players forward and we deserved the win by going for it. Watch the celebrations - they weren't the normal celebrations this team were truly delighted.

It hasn't been easy for the team or the managent. No one wants to go through what has happened to us since Christmas - it's been heartbreaking running through the depth of the injury crisis we have and seemingly still have. And - if we can have some luck -we are back in with a chance. The team deserve some credit and some support.

Best quote of the day :~D

What is it with these "glass footballers" who arrive at Torquay - should come with a label 'breakable item'. To think I was concerned about Danny Wrights age at the beginning of the season. He had a hamstring issue and was back before you could blink an eyelid and running around like a spring chicken. Did anyone else notice how Wrexham come into their own when Wright was substituted.

Yes -I didn't think Wright would be much of a signing but he's always been a decent footballer and showed his merit again today with his ability to hold onto the ball.

He's so different to either Waters or Boden who were actually both dire in their attempts to retain any possession when we got the ball forward, and that's the main reason why we ended up under pressure at the end.

Waters did actually make the goal though, pulling the ball down well - the only contribution he made in the match. I'm not sure "we went for it" as you put it - we'd been completely under the cosh for the previous 15 minutes but it did end up as a stunning victory in the e

I don't honestly think that 12 weeks is in "a blink of an eyelid"..... :}
However, as I said previously, its great to have DW in the team..
And he has been 1st class - as I expected - since he's been back.
