i really like the look of aways again today in our division, just a matter of working out which ones to plump for.
the exception being a seemingly very weak hereford, i can see at least six of the other being likely
think i'll have crawley, barnet, crewe, burton, morecambe and us. i do fancy gills to upset rotherham too, think i'll do 3 and 4 folds and a small stake accumulator for all six, and another of all 11 except hereford, of 132000/1!!

pick the six teams and then perm any 3 or any 4 of those to win, 20 bets for the trebles, 15 bets for the foursome, and an accumulator for all six, 20p bets and a quid on the six, £8 bet i think

Bixie, do you make money from your betting?

every so often i have a nice win, but generally, like most people i make a loss on the year, its an inexpensive hobby for me, i never go mad, £1 stakes and the occasional fiver

Fair enough, a slight loss is worth it for the enjoyment. I asked because the accumulators weren't working out for me so i've moved to single bets on asian handicaps and goal line.. less excitement than chasing the big win but i'm making a small profit so far this season.

yeah i know that larger stakes on singles is the way forward, but i just love the accs and the chance of something huge!! picked up £200 or so two weeks back so thats a good few months free gambling. difficult at this time of the year when teams are finding their feet.
i find the european coupons much more predictable, for instance i've got 5/5 home wins in holland so far this weekend, and waiting on 3 more and AZ away for another £75 for a quid stake, seems the most predictable league out there most weeks, also go unders in league 2 france, that seems to happen a lot
be lucky

Good shout on ligue 2.
http://www.soccerstats.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is good for seeing which leagues are high/low scoring and confirms what you say. Fingers crossed for the Dutch games to come in, i've got Feyenoord at -0.5, -1 handicap and various goal lines today.
I usually prefer league 2 betting, as i've actually seen more of the teams play. Creepy crawley let me down yesterday but morecambe and macclesfield did a job.

Soccerway is invaluable for form guide on all leagues and games around the world. I tend to trawl that for a treble so I'm not drawn by odds and then place my bet. Skybet is very good as they have markets on nearly every league.

I miss gambling on the football

I used to turn a pretty nice profit, to be honest. Here are my rules.
- Never back odds-on away. You'd be amazed how many times teams that a really short (1/2 or worse) don't win away from home. And, because the odds are so short, they only need to get done one time out of every 3 or so to mess you up. I bet Crawley were odds on at Cheltenham.
Don't be scared of the big prices - I backed West Ham to win at Old Trafford twice in 2 years, 9/1 the first time (FA Cup) and 7/1 the time after (league). Off the top of my head I can think of QPR at Everton being an example. Don't know the exact price but I'd imagine you'd have got 3/1, easy.
Pay no attention to what a team 'needs' (for promotion, etc - in my experience it makes very little difference. Eg crap teams battling relegation don't suddenly become good)
Ignore games involving your own team (made that mistake a few times
)
I used to have a £10 bet every weekend. I'd pick 5 fixtures, (sometimes draws) - I'd look for home odds around between evens and 2/1, maybe a draw or two (used to be at about 23/10) and the occasion lairy away win (at about 3/1)
20 x 50p Trebles
£5 acc.
if you're betting the odds I've suggested, getting 3 right would usually get most of your stake back (for example 17/10, 23/10, and 6/4 would get you just over £11 back) but of course you're really hoping to get more than 3 in. If you get 4, you're looking at a nice profit of maybe £30, but if you get all 5 in it's time for a holiday. I actually hit that twice (this was in about a 3 year period); the most memorable time was when I had 4/5 in and Wrexham scored a last minute penalty to equalise and I kopped about £1200. My punters (I was a betting shop manager at the time) we curious as to why I'd whooped at an apparently random time)
I really miss betting on the football.

i'm smarting from a 10/11 acc going down last night when bloody azerbaijan levelled in 86th mintue to spoil a lovely £150 win!
today i think the value lies with a macc win at 3/1!! we're 10/11 and the draw 12/5 with bet365. we may be lucky and get an inplay feature seeing as theres no prem or champ games, but thats no good to me as i'm out on all dayer from 1pm, will just have to place my bets and hope the gods are smiling down on me!!
my acc today is stevenage, walsall, mk, morecambe and southend, about 53/1, and prob an away treble of macc, dagenham and rotherham or colchester? or maybe oxford??
good luck people
