How much do the coaching courses cost, Dave or Scottish Gull (assuming their the same prices?)

Seriously interested in doing one as me and my brother are considering coaching a youth team hopefully next season.

Me and my borther are also interested in doing some kind of coaching thing, where do you do them as well?

To keep this centre of excellence going next year it's going to cost the club over double the current fee- it rises to 105k...it's a shame if we can no longer afford to keep it running as I'm involved in it most weeks and have seen a greater improvement recently.

i'm currently running a local U10s team (which my lad plays for) with another guy, and the club are about to put me through the FA Level 1 coaching course. I think it costs about £150, and then as you go up through the levels, the courses take longer and cost more.

coaching the lads is great, so to get an official qualification and improve coaching skills etc is great. well worth it if you can spare the time.

Nope, I'm on the Academy these days...unless there are no games one week.

Nick, my suggestion would be contact a number of local clubs and tell them your interested in coaching , most if not all clubs will pay for you to get level 1 , as Brady regiment says it is about £150 , it is a 2 week course they are Normaly held at coach road Devon F.A , 2 full Saturdays, and a number of evening class room sessions, including child protection, first aid , and how to develop and run a football club.

Personaly would suggest you do not go to far into coaching kids with out this, so work along side someone else who does.

Going back to EPPP, our according to the H/E has been spending £40k a year on the Centre of Exellence, so over 4 years thats £160k to produce nothing, not one single player has come through to our first team , as Sual Halpin did not come through our C/O/E.

To me hear lie's the problem, and why EPPP could be a good thing, it will force clubs like ours who have a pointless C/O/E to either drop it or improve it so it does produce players, if my understanding is correct if our clubs can find an extra £60k and uo our contribution to £105k, the premier league will an extra £215k to it, to allow us to retain youth level 3 status.

That extra £215k would surely pay for the training ground to be leveled , and updated, and allow the club to bring it's youth system in house, instead of training in paington and torquay, and playing games in Denbury and i believe now Forchess cross, if i have this right and the club need to find an extra £60k to gain a further £215k form the premier league, what are they complaning about ? As it will likely to be many years before we caould possibly lose to a top school boy for peanuts to a premier league club, and kind of funding will allow are club to improve our current set up no end.

Nick, there is a level one course on the 7th November in Plymouth (according to my email) so its worth looking into that!

I do referee on the Saturday's too now, yes that's why I cannot make games at plainmoor these days!

Yeah I think I'd enjoy coaching more - I enjoy helping out with the club I help with at the minute, just think it'd be nice to actually be in charge.

Indeed it was - I had quite a few Sundays off in September/early october so I considered registering then, but I've worked each one since then so I've decided not to. Are you still level 7?

Well i'll hope you wont be moaning at the referees when you are in charge or i may have to send you off! Which clubs that then?

I am although I'm in my promotion season so hopefully be a 6 by April, men's is a lot more mentally demanding so I am having to adjust to that.
