Matt Gill commented after the game in the special ones absence. this particular quote made me smile :-
"Quite a few home truths have been discussed in there and we now need to make sure that doesn't happen again."
i wonder if any of these "home truths" are sinking in to the ambitious one ?? probably not.

Rumour on their board is he may have been sacked/walked away
The special one did not appear for post match interviews last night and no players showed up in the executive box due to reports of "it all kicking off"
He has also not been seen today
Maybe his time is already up?

Doubt vey much Buckles been sacked, was talking at the match last night with a few friends, and we all agreed Rovers have invested a great deal of money in Buckle's plans and squad, to early for them to pull the plug, as a new manager would want to strip back everyting buckle has done and invest in his own players etc.
It is believed that Rovers are running on a fair sized debt aswell, not sure they can afford to start again so soon.

If he's lost the dressing room though surely he's going to have to leave? Fights like this are generally a line in the sand that its difficult to recover from. He may well also have realised that the Rovers job is not all its cracked up to be and is damaging his personal record somewhat. Something's definitely wrong with that team and we have no clue of whats going on behind the scenes...
Not a Rovers fan in sight anymore Bristol Rovers at home wouldn't be the same with Buckle already been sacked.
From Bristol Rovers forum -
"Down in sunny Torquay he was not under the media spotlight so much and the "big club" interest was not evident. So he could spill the beans and get away with it. After all, who really cared about little Torquay"
Ouch....but have they seen the weather today!? So funny that 'Massive Rovers' and 'King Buckle' are one big shower right now after all the talk in the summer.

They really are an arrogant lot! At least Torquay are the top team in Torquay, but Rovers can't say that about Bristol. There has always only ever been one potentially big club in Bristol and that is Bristol City, who have played in the top flight 3 times whereas Bristol Rovers have never been near it!A J wrote:From Bristol Rovers forum -

Talk about being a 'big club' should really be left until after they have pulled away from 16th position in the bottom division. After 15 games they haven't even be able to haul themselves above sleepy old sunny Devon team Torquay.
I would say the problems at Bristol Rovers are more to do with the fans than the succession of managers they don't give a chance too. Barking the whole lot of them!

to think there wasn't a single mention on the Monday morning back pages about the Man City - Man Utd game, the papers were just full of Rovers' defeat at Burton.
thank god little old torquay don't have to worry about all that international attention, eh ??

Think it is important not to tar all gasheads with the same brush though, the Rovers fans who have posted on here since the summer have come across as decent lads who know there stuff, and reading through there forums , they have more sensible posters than the likes of this guy .
Think it maybe important to point out, that little old Torquay who no one cares about , are sat above premiership in waiting Rovers in the div 4 league table.

Yes you are right as normal forever in that some of the Rovers fans who posted on here did come over as reasonable blokes (some of course not all). It's just all this big club big club mantra that amuses me. I have nothing at all against Bristol Rovers and in fact have always quite liked them, but the facts of the case members of the jury are quite simple .... they are not!forevertufc wrote:Think it is important not to tar all gasheads with the same brush though, the Rovers fans who have posted on here since the summer have come across as decent lads who know there stuff, and reading through there forums , they have more sensible posters than the likes of this guy .

interesting if true mate.NickGull wrote:5 games left to save his job, apparently.
next 5 league games :-
H v Dag & Red
A v Acc Stanley
H v Barnet
A v Southend
H v Swindon
and of course an FA cup tie in there somewhere.
looking at that, i'd say he's got 3 games, the first three, cos if he doesn't get a minimum of 7 points from those, he's in BIG trouble.

Well said Regiment. It seems more like 3 games to save his job, as Southend away is difficult for most teams in this division and obviously Swindon will be threatening. 7 points should be the absolute minimum target for him from those games.
I would be surprised if he has 'lost the dressing room', as many of his players there have worked with him before (with us!) and would surely know what kind of management style they were signing up for when they joined Rovers. Interesting times...

Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...
Have those 'orrible red ****s from over the river really been top flight 3 times?? I thought it was only 2 but hey ho, you are quite right, they have been there and we ain't.stefano wrote: They really are an arrogant lot! I will concede that some Rovers fans (particularly on forums) can appear to be pricks, but I would hazard a guess that that is true of fans of all teams ( Torquay excepted of course, they're a lovely, cuddly bunch). As for the majority of Gas, I think you will find that we are far from arrogant, and that we generally have a healthy dislike of 'big' clubs who fell down to our -old- level. It was fun seeing the likes of Man City and Leeds slumming it at our place in recent years, and as I would imagine Rovers are perceived as a relatively big club in the 4th division, it is to be expected that fans of other clubs- particularly Torquay because of the Buckle factor- are enjoying our current struggles.
Apparently Buckle is quite an ambitious sort ( I know he is, I've heard him mention it once or twice), so I'm sure managerless club such as Leicester City will come along and headhunt him soon- unless you lot want him back of course?
