Seems that Wes Saunders has arranged a trial with Argyle for this player. He flew down on Monday night and began a 10-day trial at Home Park yesterday. Could be playing against us in a few days time!.

Lingy hasnt a clue at finding proper talent that may be good for the future of the club!!!!!

Is it not possible Ling just thinks this guy won't be good enough for League football?
You're all talking like we've missed out on Wayne Rooney. No one knows if this guy can cut it in the League, and do we have the money to see if he does?

Nail hit firmly on the head Stevegull, signing this lad would be a punt, and our club does not have the money for a punt, impressing on a trial with Sunderland means nothing, didn't Tony Bedeau once impress on a trial with the black cats, yep he went on to have a massive career, and made our club a small fortune.
Plymouth are desperate, lets see if they sign him.

Martin Ling can only identify a player, it's up to the Board whether the signing can be done or not.

I do agree with that, he wanted to let either LRT, Halphin or Yeoman go out on loan before thinking of getting anyone in. Still is the case for any other player. We got money to spend if need be, Ling want to keep hold of the spare money incase anyone pops up in Jan. Which is fair enough.

This is a case of hope to be right but hope to be wrong also scenario, I hope Lingy was right not bringing in this guy but also hope he wasnt wrong as i stand on the popside and watch him score against us.

Was talking to my mate the other day about this player possibly playing for us. Ironically he will now be talking to me about him playing for Argyle.

Can't help but think thats completely missing the point. Lingy might have been keen to get him in, but we all know he's operating on a strict budget and its not uncommon for clubs at our level to have to ship a couple of players out to bring some in. It seems that we've tried to find a new home for LRT, Halpin, Yeoman but its not come off. Who's fault is it that we're hamstrung by players like LRT and Halpin - of some potential but some way from realising it - on lengthy contracts? Buckles, thats who. It may well turn out to be a wise decision over time if they come good, but the fact is at the moment they can't contribute to the first team, and we can't get rid of them to bring in someone who could.
Its also hardly surprising this lad has tipped up at Argyle. Lets face it, at the moment Argyle are snookered till Jan 1st as they already have 5 players in on loan (I think) and obviously can't bring in anyone permanently. All they can do is scour the lower regions of the pyramid in the hope someone can step up to bolster their child-esque strike force. Guerin-Lokonga is a name in the press, can sign outside the transfer window and seems to have some potential - an ideal target for Argyle.
Whether he is actually up to scratch is up to the coaching staff at Argyle now. Who wants to put a bet on him scoring the winner a week Sat?

As others have alluded to, the theme of the three consecutive posts above by Yellow, Steve and F'rev is SOOOOOOO far wide of the mark, it's scarcely credible. Not an accusation, it's a perfectly plausible theory (if not really very fair on Dinger who has done little wrong apart from Saah who might yet come good and McFree who has really not done it for me since his return), just not accurate on this occasion.
Matt.

Out of all the players I would kick Taiwo's butt out the door first. Saah may be crap but at least he tries. I think in time Saah may be ok. Taiwo has to go ASAP.

My post is not in anyway wide of the mark, when i say signing this would be a punt, in fact it would be more than a punt, i saw a link on the other site , so i clicked it and did some digging of my own.
Jarrow roofing play in the northern league peninsula league, Jarrow roofing's top goal scorer left the club back in Seoptember which is our former player Paul Robinson who had 8 goals, incase anyone did not realise it's now Novemeber and he still ahead of Lokonga, must admit i am not sure how many games Lokonga has played.
The top goal scorer in the northern league is Antony Shandan who play's for the mighty Bedlington town, who has 17 goals so far for the season, here is a link to the that league..
http://northernleague.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , you will see that Jarrow roofing are sat 16 th in the league behind some massive clubs.
Dont get me wrong , i have said many times in the past, iam all for our club scouring the non-league's for a rough diamond it is the way forward, and this lad could be one, however on the evidence that i can see he is more likely to be a lump of coal.
I think we need to stop creaming our pants over this lad, realise just what level he plays at, and that he might not be actually that good, it is beginnig to strike me that this could be a case of Wes using some former league contacts to big up his lad.

Taiwo has some ability he just needs a rocket. Him and Howe were a handful early doors in the season but Tai's confidence is a bit low. i would have played him in the reserve match, get him 90mins under his belt and hopefully a couple of goals but I suppose with limited striking options, an injury leaves us vulnerable. i am also yet to see this blistering pace that we were told he has..
Tai has played the majority of his football at BSP or lower league level or it's equivolent around the world, this other lad was sub in some northern league and doesn't have some silly numbers like Ross Hannah did for example, so you would hope that Tai has a bit more about him than this other fella. I don't want to give up on Tai just yet because I saw something in him at the start of the season, there is a player in there will we see it consistently is up for debate, and probably why he's shifted around so many clubs in recent years.
