I told you to knock it off with the ale Bix, you'll still get liver failure drinking hops and barley son! My days of drinking before games have long gone now i'm afraid. I'm still only fairly young but i'm on medication and can't drink until after about 6 or 7pm. ( Medication for something other than mental illness i must add!) Thanks for the heads up though with the pubs mate.

I've been on to the Burton forum and they've suggested a number of pubs. Is there a particular pub everyone is going to? i'll be in Burton for 11ish i think so i'd like to find a table and watch the early Kick Off.

as you can see it is a dead straight line, the railway station exit is on a bridge, if yr going right to ground, turn left then right onto derby st, and its a good 15 minute yomp to the ground, maybe one decent looking pub on the way

Every establishment serving alcoholic refreshment, still pays homage to the craft of the cooper-smith (blacksmith with speciality in barrel making).

Aye, I've stared done a barrel or two and then "done 'em". Landlords (together with gunfighters, probably) will always say it is preferable to be behind a barrel than staring down one. From experience, from this viewpoint, it depends on whether it is loaded or empty.

If it is loaded and you take it full on then you are gone for a burton.

For those who are going to Burton on Saturday, enjoy it's delights, they're not called the Brewers for nothing. Enjoy the day and the match.

Only 50% of the Southampton Pouse are going to this one, but just looked online and it actually works out cheaper to go by train than it does to take the car, with only one stop at Birmingham New Street.

Is anyone else going from New Street who may want to meet up and share a cab or walk to the ground with?
