So if you don`t actually know and it is just rumour why spread it? It isn`t constructive and it doesn`t help anyone, what is the point? Lets try to deal with facts instead of fiction, no-one gets hurt that way! Or do you not really give a sh1t?

You're saying you've never ever said anything that isn't 100% fact?
Rumours are all part and parcel of football.

I`m not saying that at all, I`m saying that we must try to deal with fact rather than fiction! Someone said that someone said type shite doesn`t usually pan out to anything other than crap, so why bother to repeat it? If you hear something from the horses mouth so to speak then unless their winding you up it is probably pretty acurate, circumstances can change thus rendering what you have heard as not what pans out! This is different to `well a mate over heard a bloke in the pub say.......`!

We don't know if it's crap or if it's legit though. As Camb says he's only going on what he's been told.

Prescisely my point, if you ain`t sure don`t spread it, there is usually an underlying reason why people aren`t sure and 9 times out of 10 it`s because it`s bollox!

Thanks 'cambgull' for your comments and a bit of common sense.
I have heard many things over the last several years which have all proved to be true. Clearly there are always going to be some things that are not. The intention with this post was not to pass on anyone's lies and if I knew they were such; I wouldn't even entertain them. Nor was it an attempt to imply I had any inside knowledge in order to win any popularity contest. The source of this information clearly stated that Mark's Dad had previously been his agent in that he represented him but he had recently brought in a proper agent. If this is untrue and has offended the player or his father then clearly I apologise.
As 'cambgull' said - we live with rumours in football, some result in us thinking 'there's no smoke without fire' others are conjecture. I just wonder why the slightly aggressive tone and given the number of rumours on here - why you felt it necessary to single me out?[/quote]
he hasnt.
welcome mate, you are a member of the club, of which, there are several members......!! =D

Again though, how are we supposed to know if it's crap or legit though? I guess by the way you're denying all this that you know something else...

I think a lot of the Ellis talk stems from our similarly talented pair - O'Kane and Olejnik - putting pen to paper surprisingly quickly. In fact, I'm not sure many even knew Bobby's improved contract was in the offing.
Unlike him and Eunan, Mark's negotiations have dragged on for whatever reason, when, as a local lad with links to the area, one may've assumed his would be the easiest of the 3 to finalise. Let's hope things are resolved and Mark’s playing League One football at Plainmoor come August.

Everyone seems to be forgetting Lathrope's out of contract too, and it seems too quiet on that front..

We may aswell close the forum if were not allowed to talk about rumours. Eventually they are either proven right or wrong. Its what a forums for at the end of the day. No ones trying to harm anyone by mentioning it.

The source of the info should be enough to tell you that!

Aussie, we've been down this road before. If members want to pass on a rumour they've heard then that's fine by those that run this forum and also by most of the people that enjoy reading them. If you come on here quoting a conversation you've had with Mark Ellis or even his Father there is a small chance they don't want the fans knowing their business and maybe weren't quite truthful with your good self. This might be entirely bollox also but you have your views and Tauntongull has his.
What we don't want on here is you shouting him down and generally insulting him. This isn't the other place, on here we like to allow people to say their piece. Disagree by all means but there are people that know a little more than an assistant groundman (apologies if that isn't your job description) would know, even allowing for the fact that you occasionally speak to the players.
After saying all that, it's just my own opinion on what has been written on this thread and is in no way any kind of unfriendly post from an Admin
