If you started in pole, you'd expect to win.

If you started in 10th, you'd expect to battle for the lower points.

If you started last, you'll be fortunate to get anything at all.

wrong

Jenson Button was last at the Canadian grand prix with 30 laps to go and won.

Not many pole sitters have won this year. Lewis Hamilton was 10 seconds behind the frontman with 10 laps to go and won by driving like a mad man today.

That was what it was like several years ago. Since then they've actually got some regulations right and there are now KERS and DRS systems which help people overtake on straights. It is far better now than it's ever been in the 10-15 years I've been watching it.

Your comment sums up the type of person that listens to a song and decides he doesn't like the band, even 10 years on when they've had a couple band member changes and play a different style of music, he still won't even give them a try because of the name. Try a little open-mindedness!

Like loads of sports but suppose: cricket, skittles, horse racing.

Is euchre a sport? Synchronised swimming is crap.....pigeon racing, whats the point of that?

Probably one or two others cant think of but will appear in the olympics

Ice hockey is a lot of fun to watch - I've been fortunate enough to get to a couple of NY rangers games and it's mental. I find it easier to watch if I'm there, though. They are pretty hard, although this last season I noticed that they dive quite a lot, which is *extremely* entertaining to remind the football-haters on twitter about :)

Fishing. What is that all about? Fishomania is on now with 30k to the winner who bags most fish. If a hungry fish happens to bump into your bait on it's merry way around the lake then you're in. Where's the skill in that? If a greater number of hungry fish swim past your bait than anyone elses then you win. It's sheer luck. I can understand fishing as a way of getting out in the countryside for peace and quiet and to relax and reflect but to televise it as a bonafide competition is just like something Alan Partridge would come up with.

Also I don't get NASCAR racing. It's huge here, weirdly. It's hilarious that they have a NASCAR radio station. Must be fun to listen to the commentary -

"They're going left! They're still going left!"

Also - the horse racing over here is so bad - again, it's all the same. When there was a horse that had a chance of winning their version of the triple crown i was taking the piss because it's all over dirt on a left-handed course, and there's 2f distance covering all three races. not much of a challenge. Told them that the Guineas/Derby/St. Leger is way better.
