Considering our record in the League Cup is pants anyway, as long as we give Leicester a game of it then I'll be happy.

I think we'll draw 1-1 but bow out in extra time 1-3.

Agree with this. Don't like to bash the club, and I'm sure (in my own, special, blindly naive way) that there were many factors carefully considered by those in charge before this silly decision was made, but we really do seem to have buggered this one up. We'd have made a bunch of cash from a meaningless game (we aren't going to win the League Cup), we'd have had an extra 3 days to prepare for Fleetwood and we'd have avoided the expense of the WSM friendly, which, as it turns out, cost us Macklin and Stevens.

I think, given that the best of our players are missing, and that Leicester will be keen to get off on the right foot, we'll get suitably humped, 3-0 at half time and a plucky 4-1 loss with a much improved Gulls side pushing hard second half, getting a goal after an hour, then getting caught with a VERY unfair sucker punch in the dying seconds from a Leicester break away from our 14th corner of the game.

Matt.

We couldnt of played on Saturday anyway. For a start Leicester had there final pre-season game against Sunderland on that day for a start. And we had a game at Weston the day before. Admitedly we could of sent the Youths like last season. But its irrelevent as Leicester had a game anyway. And Matt, Macklin and Stevens got injured in training not at the Weston game on Friday according to the OS?

Perhaps I should have kept my mouth shut.. the weather forecast has changed from 'fair' to 'rain' for Tuesday evening. The forecasters cannot get the weather right even two days ahead!

We're going to get a waterlogged pitch and the match abandoned at half-time..!! :(

I am going to defend the club here, for a start to have moved this game to Saturday you need the agreement of both clubs, TUFC do not have the right to go to Leicester and force the game to be moved, I am sure our club would have made an approach and if Leicester had said no that would have been the end of it, or if it had been the other way round and we had said no, then likewise it would have been the end of it.

As said cup runs are nice, and if we are going to have a cup run rather it be in the F.A cup, however the glory and income unless you get Man.u away are so short lived, I would rather us be in the mix chasing down a top three finish again, thats how you build a fan base and long term income.

I will be at the game as for the result who knows, but wont cry if we get beat in this one.

They got injured training for the WSM game, it's a spacetime issue, you need to think fourth dimensionally. We had friendlies which could happily have been canceled.

It's true that we need the agreement of Leicester, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't ask.

How do you know that the club didn't?

I rather imagine that they would have published something to the effect.

It takes a while for the electricity to kick in down there, you didn't give him any chance!

Why would they cancel a friendly against Sunderland for a cup game against us? They got 9,300 for that friendly. So I'd expect they would of made more money from that friendly than they would in the cup game against us on Tuesday (or even if the game was able to be moved to Saturday)

We both had games sorted for that weekend so it wasnt viable. Even if we did send the youth to Weston they still had a game planned anyway which will shape them up better for the season than a game against us.

Well it appears a member of our youth team is on our bench, judging from his tweet. Think he played in a pre-season friendly, can't really remember.

Edit: Just shows our injury troubles at the moment.

It doesn't show injuries at all, you need 7 subs so with 3 out there is going to be a few bench fillers thats all.
