Please leave them as they are Andy and no need to shorten them. Thanks for your efforts.

Keep doing them as they are! They're always entertaining and witty and crucially its something different. Football culture is getting blander and blander so its great to have something that isn't the same tired cliches used by every club.

Thankyou for all your comments and votes thus far, it certainly is getting very interesting. Thanks also to Jeff and Ryan for posting your reasons against, it's a two way street and whilst i'm delighted to hear that people like them i'm also interested in hearing why others don't and the people that don't have as much right to post on here why not.

Don't go changing Andy!

On the rare occasion that I start to glaze over, it's easy to just scan to the football-related stuff.

A talent like yours deserves to be heard, even if it is a talent for talking utter rowlocks!!

I'd much rather have a talent for making loads of money J5 or for making exceedingly good cakes, but i'm happy with my lot. Not a lot! ( jeez where did Paul Daniels come from? :O )

Thanks for the kind words. :-D

Can we all stop talking wet to Andy please?

How is he meant to throw his toys out his pram if we are all making his head expand?

Keep up the good work mate,

By which I mean the continual ordering of beer bottles from my emporium, just ordered 3kg so you better not let me down!

In all seriousness, I absolutely love your match day threads mate. You have a happy knack of combining fact with absurdity in a way that doesn't get boring. The forum would be far poorer without your continued wit and inventive insults to the world around you. Don't let anyone stop you writing them, its obvious you enjoy doing it, and from the comments its obvious that plenty of people enjoy reading them.

In off the red!

Ok so the poll has ended and i'd like to thank you all for voting and at least showing more than a passing interest in it. From the results it is a clear and resounding victory for the threads to be left as they are and the path is cleared for me to continue babbling absurd rubbish!

That said, i have some EXCELLENT news for all users of the site but especially for the losers of this poll who wanted to stick solely to football matters. I have been in discussion with Nickgull and he has very kindly offered to sort of take over the mantle with regards football matters on the matchday threads and, like myself he will be donating his time for the good of the site.

Nick will construct a match preview to go up on the main site page and this will consist of all the stats, players, officials info possibly photographs and general football matters for you aficionados out there. He is hoping to start with the York game on saturday.

Meanwhile, i shall do my matchday thread as normal which will just be for the forum and solely there for me to write loads of cack and for you out there to comment on the game in question. I shall still mention the odd thing about players and refs and things but nothing in any great detail like before so for all the primary footballing stats and info you have Nicks main page preview. I will also still do the town of the day and other odd stuff so in effect it won't have changed much and they might even be shorter!

I hope this is ok for you lot and that you can enjoy reading both mine and Nicks pieces.

I think this way you guys get the best of both worlds and the matchday threads can continue!!

Hip hip HOORAY, Hip hip HOORAY!! :scarf:
