Hi heritage, my comment wasn't aimed at you, was a bit of a joke at andy's expense so sorry if you think I was picking a bone with you.
Unless of course you knew that all along and were merely joining in the fun, in which case: kudos!

You are privileged in the fact that you are one of the few who I don't mind taking the p*ss out of me. :~D

Andy - that takes a lot of guts to share your difficulties on the Forum with us lot. We all have to contend with some difficulty to a greater or lesser degree. For me and other old gits who post, we have had 50+ years of suffering the ups and downs and downs and downs of TUFC. But I'm not complaining. We're a respected club, still in there battling away. I happened to notice Stockport County lost at home to the mighty Colwyn Bay this afternoon in the Ryman (or something or other) Northern league. And where are Darlington and Scarborough these days? As the song goes, Always look on the Bright Side ......

Thanks Tomogull and I intend to always look on the bright side too. Take positives out of negatives and don't blame other people for my problems and inadequacies are two crucial points for me to exercise. I'm certainly not going to become a 'happy clapper' overnight but I don't wish to labour negative points on a constant basis either. There really is no point. COYY!!

Whilst you are in a good, positive mood Andy, what are your thoughts on Bodin

I was pleased with his cameo appearance on Saturday and thought he did well. It would be better if he could do that at least in every other game AND knock in a few goals in the process but if there is latent talent in the lad then a more attacking style that we play under Knill (at least in the 2nd halves!) plus a stint on the subs bench may give him a reality check and kick start his career again. I'm hoping he comes good because I want Torquay to do well. If he does well then good luck to the lad.

Like I've been saying all along, Andy, that's what you get with most young players. Eunan was no different when he first broke into the side and Craig has suffered too. Players like these need an understanding and knowledgeable managerial team to get the best out of them. I'm sure that Knill and Brass will be able to do it.

I agree Dave, my belief was that if someone was deemed good enough to be a professional footballer and they were getting paid to do a job then to go an entire season nowhere near achieving the basic acceptable levels of performance and return is just not on. I know now that I was not taking into account the whole picture of his age, the type of football we were playing under Ling, the players he had around him etc etc and there are many mitigating factors behind Bodin's poor form. I don't believe I am totally wrong in my initial belief, I do think Bodin could have done a bit better regardless but I am prepared to accept that it is not as simple as black and white. He's a Torquay player and so i'll get behind him on the pitch (as I've always done) and on here too as much as I can within reason.

I had a similar view about Stevens, in the end I could barely face watching him in a Torquay shirt because I felt he was just too lightweight and too limited in ability. If Bodin gets the time Stevens did and fails to deliver then there will be no argument from me. One thing I have never felt the need to do is to slag a player off during a game, we have far too many of those at our place, and yes I know you're not that way inclined.

Ha cheers Dave, I have had a little assistance and the win at Cobblers just urged me to try again. If folk can forget that I've left and returned about 4 times then my opinions may become credible once again.
Out with the old and in with the new!
