Seriously, I will concede to not having read fully the earlier posts in this thread, so, with the greatest possible humility, I amend my post to read as follows:

I agree with Shane. :engflag:

With respect to the original poster,,

IF & AN'S POTS AND PANS,

What I would like more than anything (not least before we get ahead of ourselves) is for us to show our appreciation (ie unlike cheap teams playing in red in Istanbul in a corny FIFA tournament) esp at half time, regardless of the score.

Just imagine how the boys will feel if they hear the famous yellow army chant during the half time interval and when they appear for the second half.

If we wish to bodly go where we haven't been before we must do something different on the terraces and get the whole ground involved.

AND NO MY NAMES NOT KIRK!

I agree 100% Dave. I've donated a sum of money and with the fantastic help of a fellow member on here (I'll let him divulge his name if he wishes), there will be a collection of flags being waved around by the young lads who've formed the Ultras group and with Paul the drummer in attendance I'm intent on helpng to create a superb atmosphere on Saturday as well as subsequent games. Time to get the Popside bouncing again.

I have only missed the last two home games and that was due to work so have decided if cant get in then United have lost my money for the rest of season and with the kids and wife thats over £50 quid with snack and food all lost. Dont think we gonna win this anyways, we always tend to get a jack the lad attitude with lower clubs and under perform.
I really do not know why you keep thinking these are extra fans some how stealing the thunder of the loyal supporters, advanced tickets rightly or wrongly where put on sale for season ticket holders and voucher holders from the Cewe game.

The club has over 1000 season ticket holders and it was mostly those who you saw queing for tickets on saturday, are season tickets holder not amongst the most loyal fans the club has?

As for not coming to games again, cutting your nose of to spite who excatly?

Dave Pougher made a very valid point about getting behind the team during halftime. Problem is I'm usually in Boots & Laces at that time.

No contest - it has to be one of the big clubs for the money.

I kept drumming through the half time at Histon away in the play off game. I thought I would be on my own, but everyone stuck around and joined in.
If you guys want to carry on singing through half time (which is a blinding idea) I am up for drumming.

It's only Wednesday and I am buzzing for this game. I can't wait to get into Boots and start singing.

I wouldn't mind standing somewhere closer to the middle during this game. Unlikely I'll get a place though as I do 50/50's so by the time I find my place we will have already kicked off. There's usually a bit of singing down the end towards the away fans, i'll probably go down there.

Come and introduce your self to us when you are in Boots selling the tickets, I'll be the one with the drum, that way we can try and save you a spot in the middle if you wanted to join us? I am sure between Scott, Alex, SG and me we can get you in.

Sounds like a great proposition, unfortunately I sell them opposite the catering in the popside so I won't be in the pub.

Well when I walk past (with the drum) call me over.

Will do. Following on from the original post, I'd prefer we got drawn against Hereford/Stevenage if we get through. Just think, if we get through the 5th round we'd be 90mins from a semi at Wembley and making history.

Awayday wrote:My boss just asked a good question.

If we do beat Crawley, do we want a big money earner (Arsenal or Man Utd away) with the realistic chance of being knocked out or a small game like Hereford or Stevenage and a much higher potential of getting into the 6th round but less revenue.

Me personally if we are going to get a home tie again, I would want Hereford or Stevenage. The way I saw it was if we are at home Hereford and Stevenage are only going to get as many tickets allocated as Arsenal, Man Utd or Chelsea. However if we are drawn away I would like to go to Steveange, take a 1000 or so with us, out sing and out play them and enjoy the 6th round draw.
A home tie against a big team is okay because we're almost certain to get ourselves on the television. By that stage we'll almost certainly be the smallest team left in the competition, so they'll be hoping for us to shock Arsenal or whatever at plainmoor. The ideal thing would be to draw a big boy at home, get on television, sneak a draw, and then play away at the emirates or old trafford.

As it is, I expect to be foaming at the mouth at either yet another crap draw, or a great draw for crawley.

I'd rather a big one away. We'd take more fans, it'd be a better day out.

A tuesday evening replay at Plainmoor would be good though.

However, first things first, Crawley to start with. I'm dreading us drawing this match, although I'd hope to get to the replay - would hope for about 800/900 Gulls even on a Tuesday night, to be honest!
