The caps just show my anger that people think that we can not have enough forwards, if we want out of this mess we gota try and start scoring some goals

Not the striker that you were trying to hint at, though. I suspect Karl Hawley may be edging his way to the exit door Mozika has already gone through.

Good luck Shamir.

Yes, we do need to score goals. All I said is that I think its a shame if Benyon isn't first choice, and it doesn't make sense to bring in a loan striker who isn't first choice. Brucie disagreed that he will be first choice. We'll see who is right over the next few weeks, and hopefully whoever plays will get the goals, but nobody said we shouldn't be signing players. If Goodwin does play, then hopefully he'll show his potential. Good luck to him, he clearly has the right attitude if he's prepared to go out on loan to Tunbridge and now us to get experience.

Sullivan, Yeoman, Benyon, Hawley, Stockley and Goodwin are not the answer.

Well we have been saying that we need a striker. Got a choice now. At least one of them has to be ok....surely? :-D :goal:

Fortunately, that's not for any of us to decide, except perhaps in retrospect at the end of the season..

Need a proven goal scorer ASAP!

There is an element of our support that is literally never satisfied. We're not exactly flush with cash - perhaps a 'proven scorer' is beyond us? Maybe we should give him a chance and see what he can do before declaring 'he's not the answer'. It's not exactly welcoming.

Proven track record like a Marquis or a non league A N Other?
Perhaps there are more to come.

Prior to joining Torquay, Marquis had scored 1 goal every 8 games for Milwall 4 years ago, and then played for Staines, and scored 1 goal for Pompey this season. He did very well in his 5 games for us, but he hardly had a proven track record. I'm sure this lad will be decent.

Well said. He's been banging them in for fun in November and December unlike anyone else 'in the building'. Looking forward to seeing Stockley, and maybe Shamir, make an impact tomorrow.

I don't think its a case of not being satisfield at all - 20 games to go and we are signing a striker who has been playing for Tonbridge Angels. He scored a good goal on the video and looked the standout player but really it is nothing more than park football.
If it was a signing with a view to next season perhaps when we will most likely be in the conference then it might have some logic. Having signed Stockley there is no way this new bloke is getting in the team as well.

Is this guy definitely a centre forward? Not an inside outside wingery striker to offer competition to Bodin and Chappell?
Whatever the case, welcome to Plainmoor Shamir!

In Greavsie we trust.

Stockley and Benyon will likely be given the opportunity to forge some kind of partnership in the short-term (if indeed we play 2 up front). Perhaps Greavsie just wanted a particular type of striker (pacey?) to come off the bench late in games to run at tired defences? Maybe he answers a specific need the manager has identified. Maybe we should just see what he can do?

A Bodin replacement, excellent news!
