I think Mansell leaving is for the best. We have presumably offered him the best deal we can, and he thinks he is worth closer to what he is currently on, which as CP has described, is a long way removed from the situation we are in now. If a L2 club wants him, then he has to look out for himself, but wherever he goes he will surely have to take a cut.

Harding and Benyon's listing is interesting, mainly why it didn't happen last week with the others. Hopefully it's a personal issue rather than a financial one. You would hope that even with the cutbacks we would have a budget towards the top end of non-league.

I'm pleased that Poke has been offered something, injuries permitting he is a great number one, and with Rice as well we have someone to cover and challenge him. The next few weeks will be interesting.

He was lucky to be offered anything given the season he and the club have had. I would have him next year but at a significantly reduced wage. If he can find better, go and get it. Allot of posters on here didn't want him anyway. But if he takes it then we don't want a problem in the dressing room next year. So, if its true what I read on here and he is disgruntled, then goodbye.

If he thinks he's better than he actually is then that is his choice. He has been a loyal servant over the years but he was poor last year and most certainly replaceable.

Whilst we are at it .... I seem to remember a similar situation arising with another "hero" of ours being made a "derisory" offer from the club (as a youth coach) when nearing the end of his playing career ... I wonder what happened to him ?

Doesn't surprise me that people on here are just going to slag him off. He loves the club but when offered something that is so insulting it would hack you off wouldn't it? But each to their own, carry on slagging off

I think Manse has been an excellent player/captain of our club and I will miss him and always regard him as a club legend.

but

I am sure his wage would be there or thereabouts to what a decent goal scorer at this level would be on and if we had that last season instead of spending it on Lee then we might just still be playing League football.

It is the harsh world we live in now and I can understand why Hargreaves has offered him a much reduced deal and I can also understand why Manse has told them to stick it.

I hope one day to see him back at the club in a coaching capacity as he seems a very intelligent chap and I hope he has a big future ahead of him in this capacity once he hangs his boots up.

All the best Lee.

gullsfanatic1986, is it worse than what Danny Stevens was playing on during the second part of the season?

I don't see too many on here slagging him off, I doubt anyone would question his commitment and desire but football wise he had a poor season last year as did most of the club.

Would it have been better to have received no offer and be released? He at least has the option of staying and playing full time, which is more than will be available to a lot of released players this year.

Quite bizarre that Benyon and Harding who were not listed last week, have been now. Thompson is worth persevering with, Cruise I am suprised about.

Primadonna use of social media unbefitting of a professional, who remains on the Club's payroll until June 30th at the very least. 'gullsfanatic1986' comments, if in any way attributable to remarks made by Lee Mansell to him/her, would show further lack of judgement.

Now replaced by the 'much to think about over the next month or so' line, I'm guessing that, combined with the attempted deletion of gf1986's posts, the message that this is unprofessional - particularly at a time when many professional footballers find themselves without any offer - has been taken on board.

Distressing time for him and his family. Rumours are of talks with Argyle. Hope he gets the move away he desires now he has altered his twitter account. I doubt he will, but hope he does.

I know this is only a wind up, but some people really are as hard of thinking as you pretend to be. So, for their benefit...

Not if you've got more than about 6 IQ points, it's not.
