Scoring 9 goals in 2 games will have done Yeoman the world of good, however, we've got to get this into some perspective here, Galmpton and Dartmouth, SWPL and SDL teams, I watched Dartmouth struggle to draw 2.2 at Kingsteignton last season, this is how low the standard we're talking about here.

Would I be right in saying that Yeoman has been with us for 7 seasons now, how many starts, how many goals, being honest here, I wouldn't lose any sleep if he didn't get offered a deal, with a striking rota of Bowman, Marsh, Fairhurst, Prynn, think we're already looking so much stronger than last season, where the fact that all the pressure to score goals was heaped on the shoulders of Bowman, because the rest couldn't score in a brothel.

Can't speak about this winger as I know nothing about him, haven't seen him play, however, I'm really looking forward to the season start now.

Fairhurst and Bowman will be the two up top at the start of the season, and for me that's as good as most in this league. Bowman has all the physical attributes that Cox values and to lead the line, and Fairhurst should be able to tuck in just behind as the second striker.

On the Yeoman debate, I'm on the fence. I don't mind him staying if it's on low wages, but we all know it'll be the same as last few seasons - promising pre-season but failing to both produce and be played in the league.

Looks like he can get 20 a season? I saw nothing to indicate he will get more than mid teens in the league.

His strike rate at Conference level (and career) is around 1 in 3. Slightly less at York, slightly more at Hereford. For us, pretty much the same as Howe before him, and Benyon before Howe.

Rather scarily, thats around the same ratio as Hawley managed last season at Alfreton and they went down so yes, we were distinctly average and rather ineptly managed last season (in my opinion), but so were other teams around (and below) us.

I do not disagree with your sentiment on this thread, saw enough of Ryan Bowman last season, saw him miss one to many guilt edged chances for anyone's liking, his league return of 12 goals needs improving on, there's no doubting that.

It is however, very unfair, and wrong to suggest that any goals he scored in the F.A.T some how do not count, because by and large they came against lower division teams, after all a conference north side beat Wrexham and won the F.A.T, any competitive goal, is of equal importance no matter the opposition or competition, the O/S shows Bowman with 17 goals, WIKI 18 goals, either way, Ryan Bowman in a poor side, in a poor season fell just short of the 20 mark, all the evidence that he is capable of 20 goals a season.

In defence of Bowman, how many games last season due to an unfit and totally inept team performance, did I/we watch Bowman feed on scraps, and have to chase, hopeless hoofed, high wide and handsome balls knocked up to him. There is going to be two major differences next term, one, our team with out shadow of doubt, and this will not be difficult, is going to be fitter than last term, two, with Marsh and Fairhurst on board there's genuine competition for places as well.

That said, and I quote Paul Cox;

“Centre-forwards breed on partnerships and the idea of Tyrone with Ryan Bowman is two different types of player. It will be very interesting to see how they develop together and the potential is immense.

That shows what Paul Cox is currently thinking, so maybe we could see Fairhurst in the often dubbed ' number 10 ' role, and something Bowman lacked last season, a fit for purpose strike partner.

From my Lincoln supporting colleague:

Yeah I remember him. He is a decent player on his day and has a hell of a shot. He was a little overweight and could be quite lazy and never really got a decent run in the team. He was mostly a sub. If fit he could be quite useful to you.

Bowman is one of our two best players, he's still relatively young and playing in our worst side ever still notched a decent tally of goals. I really don't see why he comes in for such criticism to be honest.
