The biggest mistake the club made this season was not starting the season with Dan.

There were a lot of mistakes made early on in the season, starting with Spiess was not one of them. He was not the number one reason for our ineptness.arcadia wrote:The biggest mistake the club made this season was not starting the season with Dan.
Can't agree with you there I've proved my point and stuck to my guns the lad is just a better keeper and the manager the club chose had blinkers on.Southampton Gull wrote:Rubbish.
I doubt it, it was all part of the deal he stayed at Torquay for the remainder of the season.arcadia wrote:Just heard Wigan keeper transfered tonight does that mean Lavercombe gets recalled. :aww:
Still odd though, although the number 2 GK at TUFC couldn't keep catch a ball if he tried (based on pre-season antics), it would be odd to sign him unless there are injuries.
This is the truest thing spoken on this forum for some time, KN clearly didn't do his homework, he signed a bunch of injury prone numpties. Clarke hurt himself in the first TUFC pre-season training and ever since has had his right arm heavily bandaged. It is evident pre-match when you can see the dressing. No doubt he is struggling.
Equally it's a low risk move. His family live near plainmoor, he's played for us and at least he's had game time ( I think at Rhyl). And Wigan will probably pay his wages. However, I do question why he hasn't pushed on at Wigan.Jeff wrote: 25 Aug 2017, 17:39 Damning assessment of Neal Osborn then. What's the point in having him as back-up if we aren't actually going to play him (although I appreciate that some people said he looked ropey in pre-season, but then why sign him).
Tbf Osborn has been through the youth ranks of a side who give the impression of having a superior youth setup. On paper he's not that different to Lavercombe's situation
