This is the third time you've totally misrepresented what I've written.
Nope quite competent but without an offer accepted there is no move and it's just interest.

So unless Torquay come back with a better offer then there isn't anything to talk about.

oh, so are you now claiming a pre contract agreement is in place ?

Either way Matlock Manager Mark Atkins has come out and said what he has to said and thats how things stand right now.

Thank you to the people who have made Matlock fans who have visited this forum feel welcome.

Or maybe we dont need to make any offer to you at all?

Admittedly this didn't go as hoped for or even as expected, for us or the player but as I've already said on this thread these things do happen. I posted my OP in good faith just minutes before leaving for an away game when in hindsight I would normally have cross-checked the information I was given. I'm quite happy to admit to that but the wording in that OP was that I believed the new signing to be Ross Hannah.

We're also set to sign another forward but I won't reveal who that is until I can confirm he's signed.

As others have said, we're an UNOFFICIAL forum and I can't see how your club or manager can blame our club for this thread.

Yet again, that isn't what I said or even inferred.

How the hell are we going to fit all these loan signings in?

We do need another big forward, but with Stanley, Pringle, Murray, Oastler and Robinson, who is going to be dropped from the squad? I would expect it to be Oastler out of those five to be honest, unless Pringle will only stay for the month.

Seems very strange to me at the moment, it is dissapointing because I think all 5 of those players bring something to the squad and it'd be a shame for one of them to have to be dropped from the squad completely.

Nobody is blaming anybody but I don't think this was handled well at allI would but this happens in football.

As far as waiting till the summer to make an offer when Hannah is out of contract which is what you are alluding to i presume, it has being said by Mark Atkins that a new deal for Ross Hannah is on the table and he hasn't accepted or rejected that yet so i believe it would be a case of looking at his options right now and thats a smart thing for the lad to do.

I would also say that right now from Mark Atkins mouth that there is a number of clubs who will be fighting over his signature not just Matlock and Torquay but any move will be big as Hannah will have to consider his family life, job and if he actually wants to be playing football as a career and by then Torquay might have gone off and brought somebody else in so it's a wait and situation with the current latest that Torquay bid and Hannah was allowed to train with the Torquay squad after which an offer was rejected.

Well I can't imagine anything has been signed but we will never know what has been said behind closed doors (or at Torquay's training ground for instance).

Either way, SG is pretty good with these sources and is usually a step ahead of official annoucements when it comes to signings. I haven't seen him get one wrong yet. I guess only the future will tell.

You wouldn't expect a manager who is trying to get the highest possible price to say anything else though surely? I'm not suggesting it's not true, but it's an almost pointless comment in reality.

It does not seem like the deal is 'dead'. 12345 - creative name by the way - seems to be doing what we do when a bigger club than ourselves is linked with one of our star players, pulling out every excuse as to why he's not going to move. Its obvious that the lad's going to move on, he's way too good for that league and club, so he would be barking mad not to move on to a bigger club either now or in the summer, and work his way up the footballing ladder.

Hope we get him.
