The start of the season gave a lot of flase hope, we're not good enough for that just yet. We were scrapping for our lives last year this year we'll be fine so it's a progression.

Oastler has been decent, Hemmings and Rose weren't interested, Gritts barely used. The other 2 obviously haven't been here long enough to comment?

thing is royal, some posters on here got a bit delusional thinking we could or should make the play-offs.

we should be ok about being a league 2 club for a few years before we get ideas above our station.

Of course we need more players - i'm just not convinced filling a squad with loanee's is the answer. They simpley aren't as commited as permanent signings. If we can't afford to but anyone, we perhaps ought to have been looking further down the pyramid for players that might be able to make the step up, or freebies looking for a deal?

As for Robbo, i have no idea why you continue to berate him. He's a centre-half playing out of position and doing a decent job of it. There aren't many occasions that he's our worst performer.

You're putting words in my mouth. I'm not saying 'he's no good at utilising loan players'. I'm suggesting the idea of filling the squad with loan players rarely works because their commitment is not the same as those players who rely on the club for their wages.

Absolutely.

Posters grumpy because we won't spend any money, tonights attendance 1600. We have no sugar daddy so where does the money come from? People through the gate. Crowds of an average less than 2500, a budget that is in the bottom 4 or 5 clubs in the league. We will not get playoffs this year but we will be bette rthan we were last year.

We are a League 2 CLUB at best. There are ways we can improve but it comes from what we've done developing our young players. We've got some but they need help right now.

The loan market is our only hope. That and those lads without clubs right now.

*I like Robertson as a centre half, he 'does a job' at right back but as long as you've got an out and out centre half like Robertson playing right back then you've got no hope. That's nothing against him personally but he lacks the quality on the ball to get forward and help out attacks. He also lacks the pace and mobility in that position. Does a job, yep fine but don't expect torquay to do anything in this league when you've got people 'doing jobs'. You need specialists*

There is no doubt the performance on Saturday, and the frustration felt at the subsequent draw and losing our top scorer will have had an effect this evening. People are only human, and the disappointment is understandable. There wasn't much to inspire confidence or excitement this evening - as it proved.
