The Football season encroaching more and more every year into the Cricket season.
Since when has the league EVER kicked off on the first Saturday in August? It was always , at the earliest the third saturday.
Ive got 6 weeks cricket left to play yet. At this rate (and its not far off now!) Football will be 12 months of the year and that, even for footy nuts will become tedious. I like football but need a break from it.
If not you need to get out a bit more.

Being on nights and not being able to sleep is not good. I've got a feeling tonight is going to be a struggle to get through. At least it's my last one until nearer the end of the week.

If you've ever seen a film called 'Pacific Heights' starring Michael Keaton you'll know what we are currently living through every weekend for about the last 6 weeks at Chez Beard.
God knows what he is doing, but our neighbour is knocking their house to pieces non stop every Saturday and Sunday for about 6 hours each day! If he drills any more holes i think the party wall might fall down.
Just give it a rest for one weekend please

Couldn't agree more, except the school I work at expect you to attend no matter what you've got, and stuff the consequences!
Death is acceptable as a reason for being off work, but must be accompanied by a doctors note!

Seconding Emet, My daughter's school only accept sick days for vomiting and diarrhea or or other potentially nasty stuff. So I do send her in with coughs and colds.

My husband goes into work ill too but he doesn't get sick pay so it's go in or not pay the bills.

Down to my last working DeWalt battery, so ordered 10 new ones on Monday afternoon for my comprehensive 18v kit. I thought here we go, Parcelfarce will deliver sometime next week.

Today at 11:00 hrs, postman Pat arrives with the goods.

That's less than 48hrs from order to delivery and all the way from Scotland too.

I'm not happy, cos I can't call Parcelforce the farce anymore.
