Clubs generally just dont do that though do they? Yes he did have a contract with us but he has obviously been offered a better one by Rovers, and he has left for an agreed fee, simple as that. No manager wants to hold onto an unhappy player as it does nothing at all for squad morale. The minute he handed in that transfer request the writing was on the wall, player power wins hands down and probably always will.

I couldn't care less what Buckle is doing, or who he is doing it too, keep an eye on him Rebbeca :whip:. If he does return for even more of our players in the future so be it. Players come players go, we must look to the future and Hope Mr Ling was the right appointment and that the players he brings in are also good appointments.

Supplementary to this, clubs such as ours supposedly survive by nurturing talent, and selling it on at a profit at a time beneficial to the players and club. But how do we expect to make a success of that if we continue to sell players for significantly less than they're worth? You only have to look up the road to Exeter to see how making the most of your assets can benefit a club. They turn players over, but always seem to get good value in transfer negotiations. It's getting so frustrating watching us virtually gift-wrapping players to the opposition.

So everytime a player expresses a desire to be elsewhere we should agree the first offer that comes in for him? I'm not sure that's an effective business plan. Nor is it destined to reap rewards on the pitch.

Please someone confirm it wasnt 35k!!!!

esp. with the 'Rovers Meet the Fee' on dotcom, if we have asked for 35K its a disgrace!

Dissapointesd in the board over this. "Chris Zebroski to Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee" Not many TQY regulars saw that statement comming then!

There has to be something wrong with the reasoning where the board are unwilling to tell their own customers what the selling fee was when they know full well that the information would come out through the Bristol Press. An undisclosed fee is exactly what it says it is,,, undisclosed. Unless of course their is no undisclosed agrreement from both the buyer and the seller. In which case what is our board afraid of?

I still have of course nothing but respect for our current regime but would appreciate as a regular paying customer some calrification with the regrard to the above.

Firstly it was not the first offer, one had allready been rejected, and more importantly none of us yet know the transfer fee / add ons etc or the actual deal which has been done by our board. Secondly you talk about reaping rewards on the pitch, that is not going to happen with a player who does not want to be here.

Just my opinion :~D

I rather have a commuting Zebroski on the wing than Macklin or Stevens. The same goes for up front with McPhee.

5 weeks to go before the start of the season, maybe just maybe suitable replacements will be arriving shortly to add to the keeper who has played Scotish premier league football, and the highly rated Saah who has almost 100 games of league 1 footy under his belt. Glass half full boys! :scarf:

Such was Zeb s work rate that I never once considered that he was commuting such long distances.

What a tribute to his old manager. And indeed his new manager.

Something smells rotten in the state of Denmark... :@

Undisclosed, as in Bristol Rovers may not wish their fans to know they paid over £100k on a player.

Honestly people, load of feckin drama queens.

Wait until the FACTS come out rather than believing some Bristol rag nobody has heard of.

Which one ? Owen or Chris ?

Reading between the lines, it could be we're setting up as 5-3-2.
