Sat just in front of Yellow Army at game. Told a young lad (no more than 12 years old) who was sat in seat behind me - do you have to swear like that, I've been listening to you all the game.
For someone so young, he used virtually every swear word possible!!! He was stood with two other lads of similar age - no adults were with them. Looked very sheepish when I said to him about his constant swearing.

Team played well, plenty of effort - just lost it in the mad ten minutes. :@

i'm sure we're gonna put in abrave performance today but really dont expect anything other than a defeat, however i've spent the money i've saved on the ticket price backing bodin first and anytime scorer in 0-1 and 0-2 wins, also howe anytime in 0-2 win!

As soon as I saw this, I knew we were doomed. Your track record is not good is it?

Just got home and at last the Gull Player has the match vid.
Couple of great goals by the lads - 1st goal was top drawer
Hard to see form the vid but I so wanted the lads to go up to Ellis after the OG and give him a hug and make him feel better and get him fired up again. He looked so lonely and didn't need to... :scarf:
This result was unthinkable in the dark days of the bad run - well done evertyone. Bodes well for rest of season

I've just looked at the highlights again on the FA website to remind myself of the game, and it confirmed my view that Danny Stevens was harshly blamed for his 'miss' after Rene Howe rounded the Sheffield goalie. Rene could, and should, have centred immediately to Danny instead of hesitating; at that point Stevens had an open goal in front of him. By the time Rene steadied himself and looked across, there were players on the line and Stevens had no chance. So it could be argued that, but for Rene's hesitation and Bobby's mistake, the Gulls might have had at least a 2-2 draw. But then again, if the Blades had scored instead of hitting the woodwork, etc, etc. That's football, even the best players make mistakes, but despite this we can be proud of the team's excellent performance and their overall form of late. Into the play-offs come January!

What about the Stevens 'miss' before that though when he had a clear shot at goal and couldn't even hit the target scuffing it well wide. He did this also at Chesterfield if you remember when in a similar position he scuffed it well wide before scoring a tap in laid on a plate for him. Still that counts as one of his goals for the season i suppose leading people to believe that his goalscoring ratio must mean he has ability.

Bix i was purely responding to Gullscorers post who took issue with my comment in my match report when i accused Stevens of a blatant miss. Gullscorer was defending Stevens; however, i was simply pointing out to him that Stevens had missed previous chances and also vs Chesterfield which Gullscorer fails to acknowledge and him doing so would balance up the debate. I can't have people thinking i have a go at DannyBoy for no reason can i?

Actually Andy, I thought I was trying to balance things up, though I wasn't thinking of you particularly. I acknowledged that everybody makes mistakes; mistakes are allowed providing we learn from them. But I would not like to see someone apparently receive more criticism than others who may have made just as many mistakes. Or criticised for a mistake he had not made.
