The chairman himself did say if anyone did apply during the week then the shortlist may be increased if they were a decent candidate, could be possible that he applied during the week?
Just would like the best man to sign now please. Well Monday please.

Did we not set a deadline for applications? Can Sampson (or anyone else) really want the job if it's taken this long to bother applying? Perhaps if someone else applies on Monday we could extend the process even further...

To be honest guys and gals, do we EVER really know the whole truth with these situations. Chinese whispers and all that, plus we, ourselves, put 2 & 2 together and make 5.

Hopefully, if the person that I spoke to, is correct, we will all know by 5pm on Monday. (Although the person did say HOPEFULLY by 5pm Monday.) Whoever it is, whatever happens we, the supporters, have to get 100% behind them. Things are looking up I think. I feel much more positive today, than I did 2 weeks ago.

And, I went and ordered my season ticket yesterday.

Thats does not bode well for us,. Most companies put a deadline on applications. if they havent applied by that time then they are out.
I think that any manager who hasnt applied does not really want the job and we would just be another short term stepping stone untill either he was sacked or he moved on.

Lets hope not Fonda. We really need to get personel, in place, to make a start on the coming season. They will have to draw the line somewhere. :rules:

Sampson would be a dreadful appointment. Even Grimsby didn't want him. No, no, no! I will cancel my season ticket if they give it to him.

You heard anything different? Or will it be announced anytime soon?

I did speak, personally, to someone (very reliable) at the club yesterday (about 2pm) and this person said that they still had one more person to interview today (He actually turned up whilst I was there) plus another couple on Monday. This person said that the board were weighing up between experience/non experienced which was a difficult decision. I was told that it should be made official by 5pm Monday.
Person, also said, that next season is going to be a tough one, on the pitch. Was also VERY angry with the way a certain PB left the club.
Given that diamondgirl has a reliable source, it may well be that interviews are still ongoing today - whether we will hear anything today may well depend on the outcome of those interviews I would imagine. The OP suggested Forster had been given the job, but it seems as though at that stage, that Baraclough hadn't even been interviewed, given that he only turned up for interview on Thursday afternoon. Whose to say that any one of those interviewed more recently hasn't changed the board's mind ....

Perhaps someone else will apply tomorrow, and we can put it off again? It'd probably be better if we don't give anyone the job at all, because somebody better might come along straight after. Lets just wait. That'd be best. No rush...
