So where has Foulston been playing, it seems he's been at LB throughout? It looked like Carson was one of a middle 3 with Cooke, Young and Jeffers as a front 3
And you've identified why it's not working
Carson pushes on and Foulston becomes the option on the wide left in possession however he doesn't have an option so either turns back to the keeper who kicks long and we lose it or hoofs it long and we lose it
Foulston is now LB in the 2nd half

A game low on quality with a good free kick to win it
How many minutes has it been since we've scored from open play?

About 430 minutes by my reckoning, 4 matches plus all but 20 minutes of the Chelmsford game
It is definitely a concern. Pleased with the clean sheet today but again we rarely looked like scoring. Much better second half as said going 4-4-2 with WJD and Cooke looked liked he'd had a rocket up his ass at half time because he was superb second half .

Agreed, i hope PW gives a run of games with a flat back 4
We just need to start with a midfield of Hayfield over Threlkeld, not both
This team still lacks a bit of bite and a physical leader
Thankfully Hamon was switched on enough to protest the Truro goal - however the 10 other wet blankets stood still - if you role reverse that to the Chelmsford game their whole team pressured the officials to overturn the decision

Very little to say about the first half, pre match the ref was doing corner to corner full speed sprints and some wag in bristows shouted, slow up, we dont go half that speed. Nice to see warnock pre match on the pitch chatting to the squad and also from the dug out.Very odd starting eleven, midfield non existent, young manfully trying to create things but no one on his wavelength, Palmer cannot play full back, a snail would beat him in a foot race and he cost his back three colleague a yellow who dived in to cover for one of his many mistakes.
Second half much the same as the first but there was no explosion of intent come minute 70 that usually occurs, oh and we actually brought on some midfielders and a superb free kick from hayfield.
If Wotton saw anything from bristows it must be that truro's front two, no 7 and 11, both the same size or smaller than ash and seymour caused pandemonium amongst our back line, were they more skilled, possibly not, were they fitter, definetely, but they both possessed one quality ash and seymour will never have, they had pace and had only one idea ,attack our goal, I would exhcnage ash and seymour for them in a heartbeat.

I can see goals in Cooke and Young
I don't think the problem is with the forwards, but rather the setup and the midfielders.
There is a desperate lack of creativity and pace in the middle, but I do believe we have it in WJD, Mussa and Hasani but for some reason we can't find a way to incorporate them into the line up. I agree it's one of Hayfield or Threlkeld, both both.
WJD's enthusiasm may mean he loses the ball here or there; but the tempo of the game is transformed with him on the pitch.
Mussa clearly has ability but we're not finding a way to get it out of him yet, but ultimately the shape has something to do with it.
There are makings of a good side there, but we've got to simplify the game.
PS according to the post match analysis this was Hamons best game for distribution which says it all, I left hoping he has a distribution trainer to help minimise wasted lumped balls up the pitch! It seemed like he was given the instruction to roll it out in the 2nd half which helped to materially change the quality of the build up and thank goodness he had the guts to stand up against the Truro goal.

Also, I thought Threlkeld was more vocal on the pitch today which was positive. Interestingly almost every prior news article about him describes him as a defender (who later in his career has also played in defensive midfield) which is interesting because I could see him being far more commanding at the back

I went today with my two sons, extremely disjointed for pretty much the whole game, a set play was just enough to nick it, was a smash and grab to be honest, Truro with two long trips to London and back prior today, but you could see a style/system and patterns of play, we are a total work in progress, can't say it was enjoyable watch, we got the win, super free kick, ref wouldn't let game flow

From the Darlington website:
The FA have told us that the draw for the third round of the Isuzu FA Trophy will be on Talksport 2 on Monday afternoon "from 3.15pm".
It will also be published on the FA website soon afterwards.
Games are due to be played on either the 6th, 7th or 8th of December.
