Carling Cup : Southampton 4 - 1 Torquay

That's three clear goals, is it not ? 8/

HRG wrote:It was three originally Dave but since we haven't lost by three clear goals for quite a while (I forget how long it's been, someone said it somewhere on here) SG thought it fairer to reduce it to two.

Southport (away) Trophy 3rd Round ? That don't count either ?

Um ? Oh alright I give up. When did we last lose a League game by 3 clear ? :|

No, because it wasn't a league match. Why are you struggling to understand this, it's really not hard. All that Magners must be melting your brain!
As an aside, had an amusing photo I meant to show you today, but bleedin' well forgot, what with all The Mentalist based japery.

Excluding the Exeter POSF 2nd leg, the last time we lost by 3 clear goals was in the fateful 2006/07 season, where we lost 5-2 at both Notts County & Peterborough.

Irrelevant as it is, the last time we lost 3-0 was in 2005, where we lost 3-0 at Grimsby and Mansfield.

The only consolation i can glean from the fact that Rovers could not beat woeful Hereford at home today and cocked up my accumulator is the fact that it is actually really quite funny! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Actually it was the same woeful hereford who took Aston Villa to within 10 minutes of a 0-0 draw in the week and they have about three or four new players. On saying that they could have had no complaints if we were 3 up at the break as they didnt even have a shot in the first half. I am reasonably happy both with our points tally so far and the performances in most of the games. So for me Buckle has been a fine aquisition and we areactually in the second round of a major cup which is a novelty after the last two seasons!

Come on Friendly, you're not going to come here and try the old school yard favourite 'X beat Y and Z beat Y so Z are better than X' are you? Havant and Waterlooville beat Liverpool a few years back. In a cup game (especially a cup game in which Villa probably have very, very little interest), a motivated, excited, playing the biggest game of their lives Hereford really ought to have beaten a Villa side who really couldn't have cared less.

PB does have a good record in cups, so you should do well, provided the pitches on which you play aren't too wet/dry/long/short/wide/narrow/undulating/green/muddy/Catholic or whatever tripe he come up with next for the epic failure of his overpriced and overpaid bunch of L1 rejects. No offence, of course. =D

Well alright, they gave Liverpool a good game. Someone little beat someone big, it happens every year, specifics aren't important.

I really cant see us getting past Leyton orient tomorrow even if the pitch is wet, dry, undulating or any of the other types of pitch you mention. Although they havent won a league game yet they have the players in their team who should be doing a lot better and it will be just our luck they come together tomorrow night. anyway im looking forward to a nice trip up there and hoipefully a good game of football.

I knew someone would say this and I knew that someone would be you. I was on m'iPhone and, sort of, couldn't be arsed to do my research by 3G, so I took a memory punt and struck upon a loser.
