I am really enjoying it - and not just for the Torquay slant on things. (As i haven't even got that far yet!) It is genuinely well-written but for a few minor grammar errors but I can live with that as his writing style is genuinely intersting as he bounces from the past back to the present throughout the book. I am currently on his second season at Northampton.

As one of the younger fans of Chrissy Hargreaves i was worried that some of his earlier career stuff might not interest me, but it is really interesting hearing about his nomadic life in football. Some rather strapping pictures in there for any of his female fans also. hahaa
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...

Just bought a copy. Can't wait for it to turn up!

I read the Gary Nelson book 'left foot in the grave'. Cracking read and brought back plenty of memories of the time.

I'm hoping this one will too!
Mmmmmm, beeeeeeeer.

Of all tha gaffes to allow through that one surely has to be one of the worst I've ever read, sort it out Jesus ;-)
Also, i'm hoping our former keeper Michael 'Pope' doesn't read the book!

That aside, good read so far. Particularly enjoyed his winding up of Nicho. Thanks to the OP for bringing the book to my attention.

Great read - was lovely insight into genuine footballers not your cozy premier league on silly money, like others I enjoyed the wind ups with Nico but did show what a genuinely close team we had, and to a certain extent still have.
