Indeed a lapse of judgement by MB. My dad was a mate of JJ and I seem to remember JJ wanted to make his "job" official instead of just for expenses which MB didnt entertain.
He certainly had an eye for good youngsters, I think he spotted Dan Gosling amongst others...

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the photo on the Herald Expresses website makes young Liam Prynn look like Jackie Carlton ....... its in the smile and shape of the mouth !

There is certainly more than a passing resemblance to Wor Jackie ... perhaps he was doing more than "fishing down in Cornwall" in the late 90s!
On the subject of the Prynn deal, would 't be at all surprised to see Alan Knill try to capitalise on the situation by bringing in one of their talented youngsters on a season loan as part of the deal .....
