I think this a great posting because while we can all have opinions about whether or not a player should be in the team, I think this poster has highlighted an important aspect about slagging off a player's character, especially if posters do not know that player. Leadbitter, perhaps, got tarred by the brush of association with Macklin (who, himself may or may not have had his character unfairly questioned).Solano wrote:As a friend of Daniel Leadbitter I feel I have to put this so called"bad attitude" you write about to bed.
He'd never do it himself,so its about time someone defended him.
For a start have any of you on this site actually met him? If you had you'd see no attitude.
The last thing he would be is"Billy big Bollocks!" So what gives people who don't know him the right to label him that!
Yes he played under 3 managers,Martin Ling had a core of favourites who he was too scared to change, your"interim"manager was indeed clueless and Alan Knill was impressed but again couldn't wait for someone to develop and preferred experience...given a run of 10-20 games and any faults you saw could
be polished up,in his short run of games he picked up man if the match twice,Joe Oastler never got man of the match in 140 games!
Finally the most insulting to him is the likes of Ferrarilover who while sending him nice good luck tweets then slags him off on your forum which I find spineless!
Dan has never used the the words"nigga"or"fam" on twitter and yes he does like Nando's and having tattoos and"garish"boots is merely fashion! He goes to the gym every day to strengthen his back which was the cause of many injuries at Newcastle and to build up strength and had to go to the gym because Torquay have zero facilities!
I believe given a run of games wherever he goes he will be able to develop into a good player
You're all entitled to an opinion about the player but getting personal about someone you don't know isn't acceptable...and labelling him with as having a bad attitude is wrong
Good luck to Leadbitter and perhaps one day he will realise the undoubted potential he must have had when he signed for Newcastle.
