Matt.

How do you know he is definitely still coming here Matt?

I reckon all this has done is alert other sides interested in Ross Hannah that Torquay is interested in bringing him in

I am getting increasingly worried that no official notice has come out on this and / or SG has been on today to put all our minds at ease.

I can confirm that Ross Hannah is in the Matlock squad tonight to face Whitby so as has being said just looks like a Torquay offer was rejected.

May be he has signed a pre-nuptial with us at will remain at Matlock until the end of the season. Have nothing other than guessing to back this up but believe he is out of contact at the end of this year?

Yep he is but he was at the end of last season and signed on for another year so i just don't know but i'm sure if that was the case then something official would come from either Torquay or Matlock.

Everybody be cool, this is just a slightly protracted version of the Benyon situation earlier in the year, where Davidoff know long before any official notice was given.
Ask yourselves this, if not from his 'men on the inside' where has Dave come across a totally obscure player from a totally obscure team in a totally obscure division. While his record is deeply impressive, I'm certain Dave has better things to do than scour Google, nights on end, to find a suitable wind up.

SG has never been wrong before and he isn't wrong this time. Negotiating with teams at Matlock level is probably quite different to negotiating at our level. My guess is that the sticking point is either A. Following the Jake Robinson v Hereford fiasco, we are checking and double checking the rules and/or B. The sticking point occurs where Matlock will let us have him now on the proviso that we loan him back to them for the remainder of the season. As one Matlock poster has said (possibly on their board), they would be relegation candidates without Hannah, with him, they look likely to go up.

Be cool brothers, be cool.

Matt.

Nobody has said that he made up or is lying at all and more the fact he has cross wires perhaps as it appears that Matlock have rejected the bid for Ross Hannah at the moment and thats it.

I am not questioning Dave at all Matt - and I am sure when he started this thread it was almost signed sealed and delivered.

However - this now seems not to be the case now and I am worried things have changed and moved on from where they were when he posted.

What worries me more is that SG has not been on today to confirm all is OK (although he has also not be on to say otherwise).

The fact that nothing official has come out from either club and also the fact Hannah is in their squad tonight for Matlocks game suggests a deal is not yet close to completion - unless a pre-nuptial or loan back has been put in place of course.

I hope this is not a case of him talking to a number of clubs, of which we are one, and there are more options on the table now. Is he is stalling on what we thought was a done deal?

I think the inference (from the Matlock end) is that they want more money for him than we have offered (so far)rather than a case of the player being unable to agree terms (he may already have done that).

Clearly (as one would expect from the "source" ;-) ) there is substance to this and indeed the Matlock connections have confirmed as much but the fact that they are saying he is in their squad and playing for them tonight would suggest that it is far from a done deal. Hopefully we are not too far apart (in terms of the fee/sell on etc) and we can agree a deal but in the meantime I guess the worry is that other clubs may also have been alerted to our interest.

I have to say though that I am a little surprised that a fee wasn't agreed "in principle" before he was allowed to come done here and train with us on Monday ... or perhaps it was and they (Matlock) have reneged on the deal?

There are a number of possible reasons why neither club has announced any details yet, I stand by what I wrote in my OP and I guess all anyone can do now is await confirmation as and when it happens. There's also nothing unusual in the player continuing to play for a club he's served so well either.

IF the move was to go tits up then there could be many reasons for that as well, but as always with stories like this if that were to happen it would be me washing egg off my face, I don't envisage having to do that so just be patient.

Matlock forum say a bid has being rejected and he wasn't at the club for the Torquay match on Tuesday so i don't know but right now i would say anything is far from done.
