Well we won and are right up there, but I'm not sure how, another home second half where we had to endure relentless pressure, all Hornchurch, we couldn't get the ball and on the few occasions we did we couldn't keep it. Hornchurch sharper and stronger to the second balls, our midfield was weak, assume Hayfield and Jay were two of the ones a bit under the weather as they were off it today. Still waiting for Jay to produce something apart from nice touches.
Magnificent defending and Hamon won us the match, simple as that. Sorry to be critical but really not happy with that second half. Paul will say it's a tough league with no easy games and while that's true we have to be better than that in midfield and up front to relieve the pressure.

Great win, Been a great week for Torquay. So tight at the top we are currently second. Get ready going to be squeaky bum time until the end of this season.
Also, Bonus about time got the correct score should finally move me up the table.... Onwards and upwards

pYet another performance of two halves, first we did well to hold them for the first ten minutes when they were rampant and then the penalty save by hamon which changed things. two good goals and we were comfortable.Came out second half, well we didnt come out at all second half as if they had been told in the changing room to hang onto what they already had, for once the subs had a very negative impact on the team and threakhold was appalling, he gave the ball away so many times, Mussa didnt fancy it today and was largely anonymous,Hasani had one of his best games being the central playmaker until the later part of the second half when he was pushed to the right of midfield. Yet another three points which we did not deserve on the second half showing.

Very good honest assessment from PW as usual on the game. Admitted we were poor and lucky.
A mention for the referee , I thought she had a very good game despite the pre match comments and apprehension.

Another difficult watch today. First half we were OK but 2-0 probably flattered us at HT. We only had 4 attempts but with 3 on target. The second half was dire - only 2 attempts with 1 on target (a really lame effort too) - and it was nearly all Hornchurch. Their number 5 really bossed the game from the back bringing the ball forward at pace and creating repeated overloads in midfield where all of our players really struggled. It was another match where our full professionals looked tired and out of ideas whereas their part-timers looked anything but. Had the match gone on much longer, we would have lost two points - fortunately the woodwork and Hamon saved us from that and worse. Also noted that the manager was doing his nut for most of the second half as substitution after substitution failed to have any impact. Really it is incomprehensible how we can be so close to the top of the league - in match after match we have been taught footballing lessons by the opposition. Perhaps it is because the quality of the league is poor but I do wonder if, by some miracle, we maintain our momentum to the end of the season and secure promotion how we would fare in the National League.

I didn't think it was as bad as some suggesting. Thomas could easily have scored a goal in second half, but for a great save. Entertaining game and I guess PW just wanted to get players behind the ball in last 30 to prevent a goal. It almost worked, but still managed to hold out for 3 points. I'm certainly happy with the result.

We have an excellent home record-best in the league, even if we've been run very close in the majority of matches.

Really think the amazing crowds we're getting are making the difference: helping us over the line when under pressure and spurring players' on to expend more effort and hold on to leads.
