I'm a fan tbh. He's honest and pragmatic and cares. There's so many reasons why we're not automatically entitled to win this league. I've enjoyed the season immensely and no matter what, will continue attending next season. We lost 20 games last year and are hard to beat. Obviously, need to game manage better but that experience comes on a bigger budget than the £500k we have. The infrastructure is improving and I forsee those improvements mirrored on the pitch next year. Content. COYY

Well said .portugull wrote: 16 Feb 2025, 10:55 Great communicator, really cares, thoughtful, I am 100% happy with the Board's Appointment.
He is like a breath of fresh air and his team has Plainmoor rocking. What is there not to like?

If we are successful in winning promotion and Paul Wotton moved on to bigger and better things who would replace him? What better way to find out then using AI technology which according to experts drives better decisions and stronger outcomes,
This is the answer according to AI tool: ChatGPT
"Gary Johnson: If not already in charge, his knowledge of the National League could help Torquay consolidate their position in the league after promotion"
This alone tells you all you need to know about 'Artificial Intelligence'

AI is absolutely spot on. What an improvement over fan chat.
(Of course this post could just be to provoke discussion)

April fools was yesterday.
Wotton may be a seen as a gamble for any club in the FL, seeing as he’s only managed in NLS and of course having to pay us compensation as well. If we’re in the NL, I’m sure he’d want to continue the building job and get us into the FL, if he succeeds then we may need plan b.

It may provoke discussion but, nevertheless, that's the name that AI threw into the ring. Of course, unlike fan chat, AI holds no bias but rather bases its decision on analytical data although I'm not sure all AI outcomes will build closer fan connections.Southampton Gull wrote: 02 Apr 2025, 19:37 AI is absolutely spot on. So a polite description would be to suggest artificial intelligence in this case hasn't been very intelligent.
Or to be more direct would be to suggest artificial intelligence in this case has been as thick as mince
But just repeat, my dislike for Gary Johnson will always be, because he would have known the direction of travel for our club under CO and his chums, he would have known how rotten they were, yet still cosied up to them, for that in my world hell never be forgiven.
If GJ had any honour at all he'd have walked away long before CO did.

He's a young manager learning his trade. Starting at the bottom and working his way up.Too many jump in at the deep end and end up floundering. Rooney could have learnt something from this.
In my opinion this thread is unnecessary due to the potential destabilisation and division among fans and for it to spill onto the managers and players confidence. We know PW reads nonsense like this so maybe the thread has an agenda. I’m sure he is learning to ignore it though, which is a good thing for his and the players but not for our club. Cheers.

Hahaha, that did make me chuckle. As if my opinion carries any more weight than a gnat's fart. Honestly, notnow, this a forum for expressing views and opinions. If anyone at the Club is upset by any comments on any thread, they are too sensitive. There are no personal attacks, just observations. And PW doesn't read social media, he has said so on numerous occasions, however if he does, he is most welcome to pop round for a cuppa and a dunky biscuit. No agenda here, no disrespect, but yep, I'm not convinced about his style of management.

That response also made me chuckle, Janet. Also got a nibble from Dave so AI must have a sense of humour that escapes a large section of our fanbase.
For Daves outrage at GJ the same could be said for any employee of the club or indeed any fan that gave Osborne even a penny. I gave him nothing but contempt and am just happy to be shot of him while not blaming GJ for taking money while it was on offer. I didn't hear the same kind of nonsense aimed at his immediate successor.
Back on topic, I still find the manager irritating but couldn't care less if he stays for 10 years as long as we progress as a club.

I'm with AI on this one! AI has now done some sort of test devised by Alan Turing and has beat the crap out of it, unlike 100% of humans who attempted it and failed.
Under different circumstances (owners etc) Gary Johnson would have done far better, although in his first two seasons we were promoted and then reached the playoffs!
All of us will remember an incident which happened on London Bridge a few years back, involving a football fan who followed a certain team.
This alone tells you all you need to know about 'Human Intelligence.'
