Sounds like we are getting hammered! Something's missing. Truro must of had an influx for example.

Simple conclusion - Salisbury wanted it more than us

We have made Salisbury yes Salisbury look like Title contenders ! Very very lucky to get a draw. You can only paper over the cracks for so long. It has been apparent for some time. When the players are not playing or listening to his game plan as he states in post match… you have to ask Why ????

We seem to be getting worse, this whole “new squad” dynamic is wearing thin. The majority have played 40+ games together. We don’t appear to have improved much as the season has gone on, I don’t think we’ve had a convincing performance for about 6 months. The likes of Truro are consistently blowing teams away. It’s going to take some big changes to get us out of this league next season. The league standard has been poor this season, but we’ve been below even that.

Another desperately disappointing home performance,
let's face it how many convincing displays have we seen this season, the games we've won we have been hanging on under constant pressure
We still look like a team of strangers, there is no pace and fluidity in our build up play, we stop mid move thinking where is the next pass, then we tap it square or back and if nothing on go long, it shouldn't be like that ! The opposing teams all seem to know instinctively what they are doing whilst we are so ponderous and predictable .Be better if we didn't have to go through the pain of the playoffs, this team is nowhere near good enough to get promoted. We need the pace, energy, sharpness fluidity, movement and understanding other teams all seem to have. I'm beginning to lose patience. Things need to change next season

Well that was embarrassingly inept in front of another 4000+ crowd, what a let down.
Plus points - Scored twice from set pieces and resultant goalmouth scrambles, Hamon's handling under pressure from whipped-in corners and smart save to prevent an own goal, Omar Mussa's introduction for his skill and desire to use the ball positively, Salisbury missing at least 3 golden opportunities to score.
Negatives - No leadership, no cohesion, few chances created in open play, overhitting killer through balls, casual passes sideways and backwards with insufficient purpose to progress forwards, caught offside on multiple occasions, scant service to front men hence no interplay between them and strung-out midfield.
Promotion material? - alas not based upon this uncreative, disfunctional, unprofessional performance. As said above, 6 months into the season and we still can't play as an organised team. And so we have to ask why not..

For those few that gave plainmoor a swerve last night, you 100 per cent made the right decision, poor, would be a charitable view, abject and clueless would be far more honest. First half with better finishing salisbury could easily have had four, you would be forgiven for thinking our back four had met for the first time in the pre match warm up, crosses were coming in like rockets on november the 5th and not being dealt with, while carson was the sacrifiicial lamb at halftime , dyer and dreyer could have had no arguement if they had joined him they were that poor. Midfield has been our achilles heel all season, in WJD , hasani and occasionally when he feels like it Moussa you have three players with talent but essentially are clones, they are the pretty boys, who have the vision for the pass but hardwork is not their idea of football, their shirts can be hung on the changing room wall after 90 minutes and not need a wash, more telling is that if you rolled all three into one they still wouldn't be a decent tackle in them.
I reserve any criticism for last nights performance solely on PW shoulders, a fresh bench of five who have not started for four games and could have not done any worse than those that did start, this was a game against a bottom six club who havent won in half a dozen games, there were players at tonbridge who were out on their feet and crying out for a midweek break but no PW decided he didnt have the nerve to rest a few of the players bearing in mind the inportance of saturday's game against a team who cannot stop winning, and as for bringing Palmer on in the 96 minute to go upfront, that was a mark of desperation and someone devoid of any ideas.
The PW thread of like or not which was quite rightly dying on its feet on the back of two wins just got a huge free supply of oxygen and will undoubtedly run until the end of the season.

Maybe we are just not good enough this season. Accept it, support the team, enjoy going to football and all the things that come with it. At least we have a team to follow and moan about.

Well where do we go from here, other than upwards of course!

Crowds still fantastic, owners somewhat better than last year, although you wonder when the euphoria at the start of the season will be replaced by the reality at the end of the season, and the word professional removed from the club title!

Other than that, just a normal season down at TQ1.

I was at Plainmoor last night and once again playing poorly we did not lose!

Out of 24 teams in the NLS no other team has lost as few games this season as Torquay United. 38 played and just 6 defeats. 5 of those losses were by one goal.

This season nearly every game is a close one and our defense has conceded just 39 goals.Only 4 teams have conceded fewer with Maidstone conceding 32 having the meanest defense.

With 8 games left and 68 points in the bag we should be in the play offs it is just a question of whether we can get some inspiration from somewhere like the night we beat WSM 4-2 with 10 men. COYY

And that loss that was by more than one goal was the 2-0 loss vs Welling where they only scored their second in the 96th minute while we were attacking trying to get an equaliser

It is easy to forget that the teams in the lower half of the league are part-time players so why we lacking energy? As for other teams treating it like a cup final why does that only apply when we drop points? Lets move on.

Fair enough Portugull but not losing doesn't get you promoted. We are simply not getting enough from our midfield and attack, we hardly create any clear chances or test the keeper enough. Even the Salisbury manager said despite our possession in the last 20 minutes after we equalised his keeper hardly had a
shot to save just a few crosses to catch. Absolutely criminal, I was expecting a relentless seige on their goal but it didn't happen, we need more anticipation guts and belief to get on the end of things.
