Good half time report Jeff, but holding out for a 0 - 0 result won't make the doom brigade happy as they'll see it as EIGHT games without a win. :)

Here we go.

How long do you have to be in football to expect an immediate push at the start of the second half.

You either do it or it happens to you.

Jeff wrote:One of the dullest halves of football I've seen in ages, only livened up at the end by a full length save from Bobby, and from the resulting corner Ellis pulling off one of the best, most last ditch of goal line clearances I've ever seen.

Apart from that nothing more than half chances for both sides. Southend have certainly had more, but until the last 2mins of the half they were nothing more than panicky moments rather than bonafide chances.

Ellis has been outstanding at the back, won everything in the air and seems to be bringing the best out of Saah who has also been solid. Midfield getting out battles though, and Howe and Bodin aren't causing any danger up front.

We look like a side who have come with a plan to contain, and so far it's working.

This is what worries me. I don't understand Lings method when he takes his team ( who hardly ever keep a clean sheet ) to a place like Southend and once again plays defensively or with little attacking intent hoping for a 0-0. When, and not if Southend score then Ling will chuck players on in the hope of nicking a goal as his gameplan has not worked yet again. Yes if we go gung ho from the off then we might get beat, but if we play negatively and with that mentality then we'll get beaten anyway. Millwall are 2-0 away at Leicester, play positively and it can be done.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Just seen we have conceded. Ling is beginning to get on my tits now with consistent negativity away from home. WHATS THE **** POINT IN NOT ATTACKING THE OPPOSITION WHEN YOU ARE 99% LIKELY TO CONCEDE ANYWAY LING YOU UTTER KNOB!!!!!

It sounds like Harris is causing our defence a lot of trouble this afternoon!
