The last few years (if memory serves me right) we've had a lower-table League 1 side in the first round and with them being in poor form and with league survival being higher up their priorities list we've had a pretty good record. Obviously something closer to or at home would've been nice, but I'd say we've got a reasonable chance.

But even if we get to the final we'll never get a plum draw.

That Sod Murphy has a lot to answer for. Sod's law (Murphy's Law) suggests that if we get to the 3rd Round of the FA Cup we WILL get Manchester United. Murphy 's Law (Sod's Law) will then make sure we get "home advantage"(?) in a stadium that will hold no more than 4000.

Some money spinner that would be. :(

One sod at a time I say. Before we get to that sod of a tie against Chesterfield, we've got a sod of a game at Crewe.

What's the position, these days, on moving ties to the bigger ground, as per the scenario Troj suggests? It used to be common enough to not be newsworthy, but I've not seen it happen for a number of years now. Is it outlawed?

Matt.

I think you will find that the FA has tightened the rules regarding using larger stadia for Cup ties. This is now only allowed if the Police deem there is a public safety issue then the tie can be switched to either the away teams ground or a neutral stadium. Like Sid James Park (he says with tungue in mouth) it couldn't happen could it?

Just popped in to the B2NET and they have confirmed that they are allocating the section behind the goal to the yellow army on saturday!! GET IN THERE!! I was getting ready to kick off saying that Yeovil had it last saturday and they don't have many away fans and it wasn't fair boo hoo but i didn't need to use this infantile display of defiance anyway. =D . Those of you who went to the Chesterfield away game last season will remember that they stuck us right on the end of the Co op stand which is on the side of the ground whilst the away end behind the goal was empty. So glad to see common sense has prevailed. Well done Chesterfield. Of course there are fans who may prefer not to be behind a goal in which case i apologise and tough!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

That's great news! Correct me if i'm wrong someone, but wasn't the away end in last season's game shut because of a burst pipe?

Not sure walshy, i know it was when we had the first big cold snap so that may have been the case. I just thought they were treating us with contempt as a small club like many do by sticking us in a small seating block out the way!

So then chaps, who next?

Ideally a non-league side at home, Salisbury or AFC Totton would be good.

I just want a home draw as there are so many dodgy away ones - Carlisle, Gateshead, Fleetwood, Luton to name a few!

Ball number 15 tomorrow.

Having watched Salisbury in the 4th Qualifying round, I'd definetely take them at home as they looked very poor. Any straightforward passage to the 3rd round would be appreciated!

For me Notts County, United or Wednesday away will do. Failing that a non-league minnow at home so we've a good chance of getting through. I just don't want another boring run of the mill team like Carlisle at home when me might go out. Its just good to be in the hat though. I'm excited for tomorrows draw.

They lied to you about being behind the goal!

We'll probably get Shrewsbury away or somethng uninspiring like that.

I know mate, i did voice my displeasure about this in my match report on the match thread. Lying t**ts! Oh and Bix, i'd take rotherham away too although i hate the place. It is near and i'd forgot they were in the hat too. I'd actually like Carlisle away too.

I would like to see us drawn at home to:

AFC Totton
Hinckley or Tamworth
Salisbury
Sutton

I can honestly seeing us getting, Someone like Fleetwood, Crawley, Cambridge/Werexham away. A tough away tie to either to the money backs or a tough lower league
