hector wrote:I am surprised to see the kit with white shorts and whilst I am not wholly against that idea (blue or yellow would have perhaps have been better), the white socks in addition to shorts and the white on the short, really mean we are more white than yellow next season.

However, last seasons team photo had us with blue socks and I think we only ever wore them once, so who knows what goes on in the mind of the bloke putting out kit.

The one thing that annoys me about the new shirt is the thick white band that goes along the shoulders. We had the same in 1991 and exactly the same in 2000. Perhaps someone should suggest that you can have a yellow and white striped shirt without actually having to have the exact same design (albeit a different neck).

With the white shorts and socks and essentially a majority white shirt with a bit of yellow on, it is the most white we have been since 1988/89 and the coastline kit with the yellow 'bib'
yes, i remember that kit very well, that was bloody awful as well, its one of the main reasons im so against having so much white with the yellow.
You are my torquay, my only torquay, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know, just, how much i love you, so don't take my torquay away.

Look at Bristow's bench behind the players in that picture, A nice shade of Yellow with a nice shade of blue on the letters. That kit looks awful, yellow looks washed out and far too much white! 8-o :slap:

How long do we have these colours for? :red: That badge... :red: :red:

White shorts are clearly wrong. They need to re-think this. It has to be the same colour navy as the trim of the shirt.

Bad choice.

The kit looks bloody awful. All I can say is that I'm glad I only have to wear the shirt.

Yellow socks may have looked a lot better but it's not too bad I don't think. I can certainly understand why there is so much animosity towards it though, especially from traditionalists. There ain't a lot of yellow and blue going on and for a club who has a club colours of yellow and blue then perhaps this kit could be added to the long line of gaffes the club have made with them in recent years.

What! At the very least the shorts should have been blue. Looks bloody awful!

I love the shirt, but that kit certainly doesn't scream out 'Torquay United' to me... We're Torquay United not Leeds!

**** me - check out this thread full of men banging on about fashion sense....

Last time I checked a football match was won by playing football, not whether we wear white, blue, purple or flourescent pink shorts.

I think the kit's quite nice and smart, although not in a traditional Torquay style. Agree with most that there should be navy shorts but oh well.

Couldn't give a monkeys about the 'fashion' side of it... yellow and blue are our traditional colours.... that kit is predominantly white with a 'hint' of yellow.

We wore 'mango' in the conference, and there was barely a peep of contention about it. I prefer this combination to that.

Well they only drew the sponsors competition for the shorts yesterday so I am hoping (praying) that this is the reason why the shorts were white and that come season start they will be navy.

Otherwise it looks like a lemon meringue pie design!

Players chose the shorts and the socks, says it all really! This strip when first glanced at in the flesh brings one phrase to the fore of ones mind " Washed Out", it is truely awefull! An absolutely dreadfull bit of gear, very poor quality and quite possibly the laughing stock of league football! Lemon meringue pie anyone? Also you don`t want to be a fatty wearing this, not complimentary!

Just an observation ladies/gents, I bought the new shirt for my six your old lad today. It wasn't until he put it on that I noticed the club crest and Sondico logo were on a white stripe and not yellow as worn by players. Has anybody else noticed? Bit of a pain as we live in Bristol and were visiting family!!
