chunkygull = definitely there is a feeling of rose tinted glasses for some because of the 91" play off final. don't forget though the following year it was our home shirt and we were relegated. the year after that we were poor also.

when the kit got ressurected about 12 years ago im sure we had a rubbish time as well.wasn't it the home shirt during the season we had our last day "great escape" at barnet.

chunkygull = as stated before, we had one good day in that shirt, a play off final won on penalties. the 4 seasons wearing it as i recall were a relegation, lower half finish, 3rd from bottom, very low finish.dont remember too many good old days, only one,only just.a great day though nonetheless.

im not saying it is a valid arguement not to have the shirt because we had four dire seasons wearing it.im not talking about being superstitious or anything like that. the point being made is some people are more or less saying we should have G because "we had great times when we had that kit", "the good old days in the 90's" and "oh yeah lets have a retro kit".

we did not have great times with that shirt.one great night(i was there).four dreadful seasons to be fair.so nostalgia/rose tinted glasses as some are looking at it is not really a good reason to have the kit. retro or not.

It is often linked with our promotion play-off victory at Wembley against Blackpool but sadly, what followed was a dreadful season, in what is now League 1, where Impey was sacked early on (but too late in my view), Wes Saunders was caretaker for most of the season and then Ivan Golac took over when we were virtually already down. The season after, in the same kit, we nearly went down again, with the even worse Paul Compton as manager, until Neil Warnock saved the day.
