Well hopefully that shuts up the moaners for a few games at least. What a gutsy performance, entertaining and full of brilliance and farce. Crazy mistakes by both teams but each trying to win through attack. Excellent watch!

Amazing game.

I was hoping for a draw when we went down to 10 men.

Interception and run from Hayfield was class - so many times we mess that up - he played the perfect pass.

We need to take that style into our next games.

What a great advert for sixth tier football! Certainly the best game this season and a tremendous team performance to win with 10 men for almost all the second half.

I welcomed the way Wotton set up the team 4-4-1-1 with a midfield of four ball players and instructions to play on the ground rather than hoofing it up to our lone striker.

Everyone played their part although there were a couple of poor defensive moments which gifted Weston their goals.

For me Hayfield was a revelation providing 2 assists, huge energy throughout and providing the link between defence and attack. He was ably assisted by Jenkins Davies who also had a great night but it was so refreshing to have two others making their mark in Hasani and Mussa.

Cooke had an eventful night having a pen saved but then being in the right place at the right time to claim two goals.

Special mention for the second half defensive display by Dreyer and Dyer - Weston just couldn’t make the extra man pay and just ran out of ideas.

This could and should be a lightbulb game for this team - if they can take confidence in their footballing abilities as a result they could really kick on from here.

And well done the crowd - 2950 is excellent for a Tuesday night in such appalling weather.

Agree with most of the points made by the last poster.

It was very brave of Wotton to go to a 4-3-2, as most would have expected us to play a lone striker after the red card, but he was right, if we’d done that we would have conceded eventually against a very attacking WSM. I thought we were superb especially in the second half, probably the best display by 10 men against 11 that I have witnessed in a long time, it looked a harsh red at the time, but you take a chance sliding in like that. The defence won everything and we looked far more dangerous than them when we attacked. You can see why Weston score goals though as they pile forward at pace.

Tbh we were ponderous at times in the first half, I disagree with the last poster about Mussa, I thought he had a poor game and was lucky to reappear second half. He gave the ball away far too much and unfortunately he was unable to trick his way past anyone and again giving possession away. Weston were quicker in movement and thought in the first half, and just it felt the locals were starting to get fed up, we scored. Once we had, we looked very decent, I hope we stick with the passing game!

Fantastic attendance foe a grotty Tuesday evening, Weston made some noise, so it was lovely to see them go quiet.

Thought the pitch help up well, not sure why one of the Weston players was having a go at the groundsman at the end.

A thoroughly entertaining game.

Without doubt the best game of this season.
A fantastic win in Monsoon conditions. Yellow Army pumped up the volume which has been flat of late.
3 vital points quietening the pathetic away following of 90 odd on their Big Day Out 🤔
Just need to keep this run going with a win at Enfield.

Amazing, didnt think we had it in us but a character building win. We seemed to grow with the man sent off and Weston wilted.

Does anybody know after the Hasani goal why the ref went over to the Lino on the Popside …. The opposite end to where the goal was scored ?
And then call the 2 captains together for a chat ?
Seemed Bizarre !

What a game and win that was!

First half we looked much better going forward with the different formation, and I felt we were unlucky not to go in at half time ahead. We had more attacking intent and passed the ball quicker and primarily on the ground. Poor goal to concede for their first, but then a fantastic finish from Hasani followed by WJD capitalising on a poor back pass but still had plenty to go and great composure and finish. Their equaliser looked like a misjudgment of a corner from Hamon, and then Cooke hit his pen well but a savable height for the keeper. WSM offered a few threats going forward but they did not look great at the back, and did not look like league leaders - I have seen a few better at Plainmoor this season. I thought they were there for the taking second half - but the red card looked like it could have cost us that chance

I said before the game that it was the sort of night to have a late sliding challenge resulting in a red, and sadly it was us on the end of that. Hasani slid in, his foot looked raised, and he gave the ref a decision to make. The frustration is that first half he let a lot of sliding challenges go, and only gave a yellow to their player later on in the second half which looked a similar challenge.

However what a reaction from the team - solid defensively but still offered a threat going forward. Great play down the right from WJD to set up Cooke for the third, and Hayfield capitalised on another short pass from WSM and then great awareness to play the ball across to Cooke.

Overall a fantastic win and some great performances. Dreyer is a real find, he reads the game so well and makes it look easy at times. Hayfield and WJD both had fantastic games, and Hasani played well until the red. Young clearly has the quality and we just need a way to unlock it a bit more. I have been critical of Threlkeld this season, but thought he played well when he came on alongside Hayfield and WJD in protecting the defence.

Mussa is a real frustration. Its clear there is talent in there, but its just not working at the moment. I don't know if there is something else going on behind the scenes, but when Hasani scored, he was the only outfield player not to go and join the celebrations, he just trundled back to our half. I hope Wotton can work through it with him, as I still think he could be quality player.

He also then went over to the fourth official and looked like he spoke to both managers. Was a very strange situation. All we assumed was it was to tell both sets of players not to celebrate in front of opposition fans. They celebrated elaborately in front of the family stand, and then Hasani gave it the earcups back to the WSM fans with the equaliser.

Don't know why he needed to consult the lino though!

I wondered if it was anything to do with the weather conditions affecting the roll of the ball on the pitch. It was torrential rain at that point with rain forecast for the rest of the night.

I thought he might have been warning that if conditions deteriorated any further, he might consider abandoning the game.

It would be interesting to find out what actually was said.

Well I got my prediction so very wrong, but even with ten we deserved the win, even the WSM fans we bumped into at maccies agreed that overall we were the better team. Over milkshakes we did an informal deal to swap mussa for coulson and we even threw hasani in to sweeten the deal, coulson is a class act and far too good for this league.
First half could have gone badly wrong, their first goal was youthful brain freeze from dreyer who was matching their striker for speed but couldnt or wouldnt put in the tackle, their second was totally down to Hamon, how he could let that cross drop almost at his feet three foot from goal and then moan at his defenders, but come the second half he was brilliant claiming ever high ball that approached his goal, please do that for 90 minutes,
Hasani, a player with talent but very questionable work rate could easily have been the earliest sub on record for his first 25 minute peformance, even allowing for his goal, he needs to worry less about his hairstyle and far more on keeping the ball, he has to be far stronger. We had a good view on the sending off, it was a nasty petulemt high tackle and he can have no complaints. Cooke owed us those two goals for that penalty miss. Hayfield superb all match as the sweeper and WJD our MOM never stopped running.
More entertianment like last night and 3000 will soon become closer to 4000, that is exactly what fans need to get them back though the turnstiles, goals ,hard work and drama.
