You are so patient Dave. I can't remember the prick on the TFF but you are absolutely right he would have to wait until somebody spotted his hilariously amusing musing if he indeed had managed to achieve that level of input on that particular occasion! If he started to interfere with debates on the ideal breakfast, Dartmoor walks, Wimbledon (thread going now for anybody interested), Formula 1, the Miliband Brothers, he would be given one warning and then the big f*ck off tablet banning him for ever! Don't get me wrong I am certainly not knocking the TFF as I enjoy being a member, I know many of the members who are out and out died in the wool Gulls supporters over many years, and of course a lot post on both (or even the three!) forums (not sure if that is the plural of forum!). Just a bit underwhelmed (a word I only recently learnt on here! ) about logging on to read Torquay United updates only to find absolute drivel from our friends in Bristol.

I can understand it to a certain extent. Most boring city in England populated by people with the most boring accent so it probably is a bit of an adventure for them!

I have pinned to my wall details of a thread to refer to again in 2016 (if I am still alive then - I'm nearly 60 you know!) to check if Rovers are two leagues higher than us by then! I am sure you won't mind me bumping it back to the top 5 years later, as I know by many years experience of following football that there is absolutely no chance. Poor old PB will have their fans on his back by November. He did a great job for us, but we of course are far more patient than our Northern friends! You can just tell by the posts they have inflicted upon us that they will not be the same. It is just so clear that they have Premiership potential. Never seen any press or tv pundits mention it, but it must be right as so many posters with gas in their pseudonyms have waxed lyrical about it.

Thanks stefano, we can't please everyone but I really like the friendly vibe we've got on here and would love to keep it going the way it is. Hopefully he'll see past his blinkered views and eventually give us some valid input instead of moaning I'm infringing on his civil liberties

I happen to firmly share your vision of what will happen to Buckle, I just don't think he's the man they think he is, time will tell though. We might get a better idea when he starts tinkering after a winning run, I'm sure he'll "underwhelm" them in the end

In what respect is Bristol the most boring city, Old man? I take it you have never been to Swansea, Cardiff, Stoke, Norwich,Sheffield, Bradford, Leeds, Nottingham, Worcester, Gloucester, Plymouth, Exeter, Milton Keynes the list can go on, but I cant be arsed.

I will give you the accent, but I wouldn't call it boring, It can be highly amusing, but to take the piss out of the Bristolian twang when your inhabitants sound like Jethro, is hugely hypocritical.

Who said anything about Premier League potential? We certainly have Championship potential though, with a 20k all seater stadium around the corner, that is not a huge overreaction, all you have to do is look at Swansea's recent surge,and also the likes of Reading , Hull and Cardiff to see what can be achieved once you get the much needed stadia in place.

As for TV and press saying it, well I have heard several, The likes of Steve Clarridge, Mark Lawrenson, Adrian Durham, Micky Quinn, Alan Brazil, Jeff Stelling etc, whether you are bothered with what they have had to say, or indeed hold their opinion with any credibilty is neither here or there, but they have said it.

Now this is a football forum, which is a place for fans of said football clubs to air their opinions, If you dont like us being here then tough titties. I am sure you can also put up a heading on the main page, No Dogs, No Blacks, No Irish and certainly No Gasheads...But I think that wouldn't be allowed would it?

Torquay fans and fans of other clubs, come onto our forums all the time, To many to mention inbred sh*theads, but it is all part of the fun, we certainly dont go crying about them being all over our forum.

We welcome all fans BG, as mentioned elsewhere, one of them won member of the month, a Grimsby fan who had no illusions whatsoever. We've had Shrews fans that brought great knowledge and acted with real decency and respect for our forum. I've not had any problem with you, we've exchanged banter as well as serious debate, just the way I prefer things to be. The problem is how some posts are worded, in the case of Gashead1979 it's almost every post, you just seem to get roped into it.

The way this thread has developed shows I was 100% correct to move it here and keep it away from those that have no wish to read all this nonsense. If Gashead1979 wants to post on our Main Board he'll have to learn to respect it the same way most other fans of other clubs have done. If he wants to get a rise from any of us he has the freedom to do it on here 24/7.

We have shared banter and have had decent debate, which is good and is what makes a good forum.

I have had the same with a few others, but some others dont seem to like me very much, which again is fine because everybody is entitled to have their opinion, and again if everybody agreed on everything then it would make it incredibly boring.

I dont agree with 99.9% of what Gashead1979 say's, but I have reacted to what Torquay fan's have replied to him with.

I quite enjoy this forum, hence why I have been here reguarly lately, It is good to get the opinions and thoughts of other fan's.

I can see a little rivalry going on between the 2 clubs over recent events and it will be interesting this coming season.

It is a tidy little forum(I look forward to the "Patronising" comments coming my way), Keep up the good work!!

There are some really nice people on here and although you won't always get the respect I'm asking of you guys returned, for the most part you'll find some very astute fans with real insight into lower league football who will willingly share information as well as argue with you. I'm happy to see rival fans enjoying the forum, I use the Exeter one and take the piss as much as anyone but never on their Main Board, if I venture onto there I ignore all the little jibes and keep to the topic at hand and that's all I ask of Gashead1979, I'm sure he has a decent post in him somewhere along the line

It is clear that your post is firmly tongue in cheek but just to assist you in not stereotyping my father is 87 years of age and goes walking on Dartmoor rather than sitting in a piss riddled armchair, and I do think you should be careful in using dementia as a joke as it is a serious illness with no cure which is increasing rapidly and affects most people in some way at some stage of their lives either as the sufferer or maybe worse the relative / carer.

A couple of quick things from the rest of your post yes I have been to all the cities and towns you mentioned and of course at my age many many more, and I am not too sure in respect of accents why when Torquay is clearly in South Devon you used as an example a comedian from West Cornwall who exaggerates his accent for entertainment purposes. Bristol is nearer to Torquay than Jethro's home town.

I will not go into the rest of your rather entertaining post other than to say all the best and I hope you can handle disappointment.

TFF used to be a decent forum but then they started letting all these idiots talk to each other like they're inbred. Probably quite a few of those are the BR fans who have joined here. Don't know what it's like now but it was becoming unreadable at times.

As for the BR fans here, I'm glad BritishGas is somewhat on our side in our views about some of the members. We're never going to admit to having a perfect forum with perfect members but all I know is that had it been my forum, most of the BR fans would've gone a long time ago. Fortunately (for the BR fans), those running the forum now have FAR more patience than I do!

friendlygas and BritishGas (in small doses) are more than welcome, I haven't really seen a decent poster outside of these two unfortunately, just a bunch of little kids.

gashead josh seems pretty cool as well.

the problem with some is, the banter isn't banter, it's just trading insults and p*ss taking, and nobody wins, because it goes right off topic, and everyone ends up getting the hump. keep it clean, keep it relatively on topic, and lets exchange info, opinions and have a giggle.

You've clearly never been to Torquay. As we are over-run by Scouse dole scroungers, the majority of the inhabitants sound more like Stan Boardman than Jethro!
