Well done Torquay....for only keeping it to 1-0. Unbeaten run ends in disappointing fashion.
However, not many teams will win at Rotherham this season and we are only 3 points of the play-offs (I know its early days yet but trying to look at the positives)
AFC Wimbledon now is a must win.

A run of draws and now a defeat, so we need a win next week to keep us at the right end of the table.
We have played some very tough games, including on paper the two hardest we'll play. AFC Wimbledon are on an awful run, win there and we'll be looking ok again.

To me, it sounds like its centre midfield where we're struggling. Ive only seen the Rochdale game so far, so its difficult to say whats wrong, but I think we are maybe missing Lathrope/Easton more than we know. Whilst Howe, Billy, Danny aren't scoring, it sounds like they aren't getting any of the ball to score with.
Hopefully with Easton in we'll have a bit more of the ball. Next two games should be winnable and Easton and Macklin will be back. I think Martin will assess where we are this time next week before making any drastic changes.

That was the worst we have ever been. Utterly, utterly hopeless, all 12 players were dreadful for their respective periods. Each and every single one of them needs to apologise.

We have every chance of having 13 points from 8 games next week and being in the play-off zone.
We got excellent away points against Fleetwood who are now 3rd in the table and Port Vale (who stuffed Argyle away today) who are 2nd in the table. Rotherham who beat us by one goal at their place are 6th in the table.
Lets look at the positives. We have had a tough start fixture wise and an injury crisis that has seen a third of our squad unavailable for some games.
The future is bright. The future is yellow .....

We need Lathrope back asap, hopefully a win on Tuesday!

We MUST get a result at Wimbledon as they are one of only a few below us and seem to be unable to keep clean sheets. Thats three away games, although tough places to go and have created very little and only scored one goal. We really should start with the formation we ended with today with Thompson starting. I can understand not starting him in a noisy new stadium but he will be fine at Wimbledon, it wont happen though as we know Stevens will start.
Our so called unbeaten run has ended, well our total record for the season was one win in six and if you ad the end of last season we have won just ONE out of 14. Wimbledon gives us a great chance to get that win we require, they certainly wont play like Rotherham did today.

Sorry Stef, you know I love you like a brother, but the performance today negates any possible positive spin we might wish to put on the situation. We were so bad, that I, for the first time in 8 years (in which time I've barely missed a game of any sort) refused to even stand and watch the players off the pitch at full time.stefano wrote:We have every chance of having 13 points from 8 games next week and being in the play-off zone.

Our season was ignited last year when we played AFC Wimbledon, lets hope the same rule applies on Tuesday, and that was a Tuesday match last year, albeit at TQ1. In reference to today, very few before the match expected any more than a defeat, so why are we suprised. If we are to lose at least we lost by the smallest margin even if we did play crap. Lets face it they have such a superior squad and didnt have Mr Blobby yelling at them for 90mins. We simply have to win on Tuesday....no pressure lads
Lucy
A positive is that we don't have to go to the two main favourites again this year. Rotherham and Fleetwood. Two of the toughest games to have are done by mid-September. Throw in a game against last years PO Finalists, a side relegated last year, a trip to Vale which is tough, and a local derby. Wimbledon will be tough aswell but if we are harbouring ambitions of top 7 again, we should be looking at 3 points. I'm not concerned by the start as I'd rather get these games done out of the way early on.
As for todays 'performance', can't have been worse than AFCW away last April? Surely?
