Have to agree Hector.hector wrote:A model to follow is Exeter Chiefs. A club that a few years ago got crowds of a few hundred and now get between 7000 - 9000 most weeks. They whole operation is very slick with online ticketing, a tremendous matchday experience. There is a lot TUFC could learn from them.
The set up at Sandy Park is such that you have loads of bars all around the ground as well as different vans etc, all selling different food. Pasta, jacket spuds, pies, curry.
It really encourages you to get there a couple of hours before kick off and spend money!
Boots and Laces and the Gulls Nest are good, but it's all about choice. A bar under the pop or where the changing rooms are now would make a killing I reckon. I'd have a pint at half time for sure, whereas I can never be bothered to go and queue up in B&L.
I'd even say they need something for the new stand. Replace the catering hut with a bar as well as a food counter. Put the previous torquay game on a big screen in there.
I know we are tight for space, but we have areas that could be used. Behind the away stand? The bowling alley? The car park behind the pop? Why do we need parking spaces, when the area could be making the club money? It's a no brainer!
If we want to improve our matchday experience, we need to think along these lines.
