German muck. just a pile of scrap metal.
Try 4ltrs of Good old fashioned British engineering at it's best. My jag will give you a run for your money any day.
If I get my licence back I have my eyes on a guys car from Bristol. Met him last year and he is considering my offer for his S type R 4.2ltr saloon. which he remapped and now returns 45 mpg but has 450 horses under the bonnet.
Oh just pray I get my licence back please God.
Now that will leave your German lump well behind. 0-60 in 4.7 seconds
And no Matt. I am keeping the XJR as well. hoping to do some weddings with them. get to church fast before they can change their minds.

It is now, but not on the older style ones.
EDIT: Actually, isn't Jaguar owned by Ford now?
EDIT AGAIN: Nope, they're owned by Tata, an Indian company. So new Jags will be rubbish then.

Your Jag wouldn't get near it. It would drink much more fuel and you'll probably have bits falling off it along the way.

Oh and by the way, go get your mates car, see how easily I stuff that too. Kleeman superchargers are a pretty potent upgrade.
450 horses? About a 100 short. And no way will a 450 bhp Jag return 45 mpg even if Jimmy Saville himself remapped it

cambgull wrote:Well that is just ridiculous. A company who goes to all the effort of getting the stuff out of the ground, building multi-million pound oil rigs, transporting it to a refinery, refining it and making it work for your car so you can pop along to your nearest petrol station and fill up are charging what they like for their product. HOW VERY DARE THEY!
Obviously we'll totally ignore the 80% tax that we're paying to the Government who do absolutely f-all for it. But that's totally acceptable...
I've argued this for many years. Some things are incredible value when you take the work involved and the price. Among the leading contenders are the daily newspaper, the Big Mac and the litre of petrol.
That said, there is bugger all need for fuel to be the price that it is.
Matt.

Diesel being expensive is bizarre, because it's basically a by-product of oil refinery anyway.
The newer Jags are brilliant. XK-R and XK-RS are great looking cars that are great to drive - so I've been told. I'll be finding out myself soon because I got invited to go and drive some of them on the track, which will be fun. Would be nice if I ever thought I'd likely I could buy one.
Anyway, enough of this talk about 20th century technology. EV is where it's going to be at soon. Tesla Model S in an amazing machine. Saw another one this morning. Looks great, and it'll accelerate faster than pretty much everything else on the road (unless the road you're on is populated by Lamborghinis).

Um, there are modified cars that make Lambos look pedestrian, that said I do like the XK-RS, my neighbour has one and just lost his licence for doing 100 in a 40. He says, and I believe him, that it felt like he was doing 40. It sounds awesome and looks the part too.
Tesla? Stick it up your yankee doodle dandy
