And a scant 12 hours after the original post. That'll be that razor sharp wit at work again.

The longer this draws on the less likely it seems like it will actually happen.

Can't help but feel this is getting less and less likely as the days tick on.

Hopefully he is just on holiday like Knill and things will start to happen this week. Monday is the deadline for players to sign new contracts, hopefully Downes at least is finalised by then.

he will be in with knilly next week to meet up with the out of contract players. my understanding is that he will be living down here in the week and going back to his family after match days for a couple days each week, as for AK he has moved the family down.

hmmm, haven't we heard that somewhere before?? Obviously working as a no.2 is a completely different animal I just hope the problems which contributed to ML's downfall won't happen again. Still, with Knill taking up permanent residence in the bay hopefully this shouldn't be an issue.

Brass splitting time between here and his home in the north might not necessarily be a bad thing. Could potentially allow him to scout players, northern opponents etc so at least we are still getting the benefit of him working for the club whilst he gets to have a satisfactory home life.
Knill seems a pretty hands-on sort of manager anyway, so as long as he is around the training ground all the time I don't see an issue.
