The good thing is that we do have Downes to come back at some point, Mozika when ready may provide an extra dimension and Harding can only improve but we need to be losing the dead wood now like Nico, Bodin, Mansell, Hawley and start creating a solid team from back to front when everyone is back and not dropping someone then bringing them back in for 2 games then dropping them again. We need some stability.

Poke will also be back soon i expect but i wouldn't drop Rice, i think he has been superb by and large.

There are grounds for optimism based on the players we have fit and the players we have to come back in but can Knill get the best out of them and use them properly and effectively when all said and done? The answer IMO based on what i have seen is a definite no therefore there is culpability there for which he must be held accountable should this turn out to be the case.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

I'm still laughing at when Ben T abused Knill about it feeling like a win!

Been randomly giggling like a schoolgirl about it all day! F*cking hilarious!!

I never accused you of being stupid, I said you were.

So which of those players wasn't in the team at the start of the season when we weren't winning games, other than Poke, who, according to some isn't needed because Rice is allegedly doing so well?

Just Mozika, who will play about 3 games before he gets injured again and you use Benyon who has been around all season and just doesn't feature, so you are the stupid one for including him in a list of players set to return. Benyon has been fit for ages and just has not been picked and seen loan signing after loan signing picked ahead of him, so only the stupid would suggest we are waiting for him to return and turn the team around. Oh, hang on...you suggested it.

You get back to playing the big forum hard man and the loud mouth on the terrace. Pretending to be mildly threatening suits you better than trying to be clever.

Oh and well done Burton for putting a middle of the programme double page photo of Billy Kee. That wasn't planned or anything was it?

A lot of personal insults and suppositions there for someone who supposedly only ever offers his opinion without resorting to such "bullying" :)

Just to make things clear for you and your very limited ability to read what is actually written, those players when all fit and ready to play together will strengthen the team beyond recognition. Benyon hasn't played since his injury (is it sinking in yet?), I never said he wasn't fit (getting the idea yet?) although he can't be match fit yet (even you should get that, maybe not). I never said he's the one we're all waiting on did I? Did you try your hand at being clever there? (epic fail)

There is a spine of a decent team in that list, (surely you get this?) and with the bonus of players like Azeez and Chappell we will start to get results. The way of the stupid and unrealistic fan (yes you) is to sack the manager before 10 games have passed, how do you propose we pay off Alan Knill? Will you do it? (thought not?)

I'm not and never have been advocating that Knill was a good appointment, I've not yet come to the conclusion he was a bad one either. I can see the signs of a good team within that squad, not one that will be fighting relegation come the end of the season, new players and new manager it's far too early to be calling for the managers head, only stupid and unrealistic "fans" would do that. Yes, you continue posting your opinions, it humours me and lightens the mood after another dismal display.

Ok Dave, you've not made your mind up about Knill yet and that's fine but some of us have so i think it's a bit unfair to be calling us stupid. Yes it may be a bit unrealistic to expect instant success after 13 games but by the same token we have good reason to have expected a lot more than we are getting at the moment regardless of injuries / suspensions.

To be fair to Billy he looked very svelte in his fetching yellow Burton kit. He has lost loads of weight whilst Howe looks like a herd of wildebeest all huddled together at a pond drinking in his kit.

A lot of ManUre fans thought the same about Fergie once as well. My only point regarding Knill is that it's early days. I think it's totally stupid to think the best solution now to kickstart our season is to sack the manager. Besides, you're nowhere near as stupid as hector, he makes crying on the internet look a fine art, you just do it because you're emotional ;-)

Not sure I've ever agreed more with a post.

Fl - your post is just daft. "Tiny margins" - we cannot buy a win. In the rare event we score two, the opposition score three. If we keep a clean sheet - we don't score. In nearly every case the oppostion outscore us.
Its not nothing to do with Nathan Craig whether we win or lose but lets use him as an example. Consider his free kick in injury time against Mansfield. Blasting the ball over the cross bar from a crossing position on the edge of the box was just a ludicrous waste. That was a decent scoring opportunity which could have bought us three points if delivered correctly.
Yet what happens last night - he repeated the dose and did exactly the same thing. He isn't exactly endearing himself to the manager is he?
Lets take the case of M1 McCallum who was bought on as an early sub last night after rocking up not even knowing the names of the players.
It now transpires that he had played a full ninety minutes the day before.
The decision to bring him on last night was therefore nothing short of disgraceful. Its a decision which shows the manager up to be a complete fool or one that has seriously lost the plot. It is akin to Shaun Taylors management during the Aldershot game last season.
What sort of message does that send out to Benyon for example - no wonder morale is at an all time low.
Is Knill seeing to Hawleys wife or something - how many non pefromances can a player make without getting dropped?

Dave - can you actually defend Knills decision to play McCallum for three quarters of last night game? - it is the mark of man that has lost the plot.

I don't know his reasoning for doing so, maybe if I did I'd be able to answer the question with some kind of accuracy. I wouldn't comment on a players performance unless I'd seen it myself so maybe others can answer you.
