They're relying heavily on penalties and a loanee striker. Without Reid, they'd be pretty close to bottom. I know they've got him, but if he breaks his leg tomorrow, they're ****.

I watched Argyle on Saturday at home to Cheltenham and they really were sh*t! A 0-3 defeat would have been a fairer reflection of the play. If it was a one off it would be different, but Argyle have been outplayed in many games this season and escaped with a point. There is an element of luck running with them (including as Ferrari pointed out the number of penalties they are getting) and that luck doesn't continue for a whole season. Whilst it is obvious we have more to worry about than Argyle (we are in the relegation places 9 points behind Argyle) I would be amazed if Argyle finished any higher than 16th.

Mind you if you look back over the last 7 or 8 seasons 16th is a promotion challenge for them!

PS: I know the football cliche 'You make your own luck in football'. I prefer the other one 'luck evens itself out over the course of a season', and Argyle have had theirs in abundance already! Football cliches are as confusing and contradictory as The Bible. Do you 'turn the other cheek' or 'take an eye for an eye'? Cunningly designed to allow a quote for any situation!! o:)

Didn't forget it. Just didn't feel the need to mention it. As I said, there is a saying for all situations!

I think it will be Accrington and possibly Exeter. Not just saying that because rivals but said before xmas that they would have a bad second half of the season and a very young squad there, can they cope when the pressure is on.

I think we will finish a couple of places above where we are. Northampton, Pompey and Bristol will pull comfortably away. One team that could do the big slide is Dagenham.

Though they havnt shown much inclination to strengthen so far, they probably have the funds to do so.

As far as Northampton goes, Wilder seems to know how to keep a team at the right end of L2 and Knill showed last season he can change a struggling team enough to stay up.

Rovers seem to manage it seasonally, despite looking dead and buried at times. Away performances are shocking but home record is good enough to keep them up.

Pompey? Probably the most likely of those 3 to go down as they havnt been in that position before?

However, I also think Exeter are in big trouble. Bad form & lack of confidence (like us last season) and seemingly no money to strengthen.

I know this is all hypothetical nonsense but someone posted earlier in the season that we shouldn't be looking at just the next game ahead, but should look at the next two games ahead. I thought at the time that was a good way of judging where we're at and what we need. Now, we have 19 games left so that's 9 'double' games plus 1 .... with me so far? If we get three points from each of the 'double' games, that will give us 27 points which added to the 26 we have already gives us a total of 53 points - the same as last season - which should see us safe. Plus we've got that 1 extra game. Chris has got us 3 points from his first two games so we're on target ! What will begger us up is several draws.

I hope we can do better than that of course. I see our last three games of the season are Exeter (away), Mansfield (away) and Wycombe (home). Shortly before that, we're away to Bristol Rvrs. I think Mansfield and Wycombe are prime candidates for relegation - I really, really don't want the Exeter game to be a relegation battle and I really, really hope we will be safe before the Mansfield match. We need a 'Smilie' for squeaky bum time !

Brucie - some of your postings make me want to drive to Berry Head and jump off !! There are 19 games left for goodness sake and we're just a couple of points from being out of the bottom two. Now if we were Hyde (in the Conference) I would be rather concerned ...... A win tonight would be good ...... We're gonna be okay and so will Exeter ..... positive thinking !

Bristol although defend crap at times have a strong enough experienced squad to move away and Pompey now with a manager who wont take any crap will get them moving towards mid table too. For some reason always thought Northampton would get away with it and they have a manager now who should get them going and the chairman will back him. They wont get to midtable but reckon they will be safe by a few places.

One team always has a bad second half of the season and I think that could be Dagenham, think they might just stay up but Exeter are also having a dire time. Lots of good youngsters there but not enough experience when on a sliding run in the side and fear for them. I think Accrington will also return and their neighbours Bury just above them safe along with us and York.

So my tips at the moment Accy and Exeter. Obviously mixed feelings about City going down as want them here playing but hate them too so if they cant stop going back down then that's their tough shit.

According to the bookies we are 6/5 and Northampton are 5/4

Our nearest betting rivals were Accy at 5/2 however they beat the Gasheads with a last minute goal!
