The Olympic Park Legacy Company s (OPLC) recommendation that West Ham United should be given approval to move the club from its historic Boleyn Ground to the Olympic Stadium at Stratford could prove catastrophic for Leyton Orient.

It is FSF policy that ground moves should only take place when they have both the majority of fans support after a full, free, and fair. The Hammers hierarchy has still not carried proper consultation with the club s own support which is split on the proposed move. Their voice should be heard too.

Premier League and Football League rules on ground moves clearly state a move should not “adversely affect Clubs (or Football League clubs) having their registered grounds in the immediate vicinity of the proposed location”. The London Olympic Stadium is within the “immediate vicinity” of Leyton Orient FC.

It's going through court as we speak. The LO board have said they will fight it all the way because it breaks every single rule layed out by the FA with regards to ground moves and relocations. One possible outcome is a ground share scheme between LO and West Ham.

What the hell are Leyton Orient, with their average home gate of fourteen, going to do with a million seater stadium? Do be serious. Orient need to man up and raise their game to attract supporters. Anyone who would abandon seeing the team they have been going to see for years, just because someone 'bigger' moves within a few miles isn't a proper fan and won't be missed.
Someone must have the stadium, it can't cost the money it has only to be used for one Olympiad, then two or three days a year for athletics meets, that's just daft. Whoever moves in will be bigger than Orient, that's why they're taking on an 80,000 seater stadium, if it's not the Hammers, it's the much more attractive (to the floating supporter) prospect of Spurs to take their place. LO would do well to accept the decision with good grace and not make such a show of themselves by throwing their toys out of the pram.

I will sign it because I think it should be used for athletics, not because I want to save Orient.

I still remember a few years back when I was in the Boots & Laces before the game and some p*ssed up Orient fans were in there chanting for Orient - fair enough, until they started shouting in the ears of some people around them including a mother and child. The mum was around mid 30's and the kid was maybe 7 or 8. The dad got up, grabbed this LO fan by the throat and dragged him through the fire exit doors in the larger room and must've beaten the crap out of him as we didn't see this LO fan again! During the game my dad and I were stood towards the away end of the popside and one of the blokes we were stood next to felt a splat on his arm just before half time, turned out it was some LO fan throwing the contents of his sandwich at us.

I know I shouldn't judge a club on just a few idiots but I lost all respect for Orient after that game and frankly, a team moving into the Olympic Stadium is not going to kill your club, it'll probably just take a few fans away. Boo-hoo, you might have to put up with a crowd which will still be bigger than ours!
