I seem to recall being at a rearranged midweek game, ?late 80s, at Darlo's old ground where there were just four of us. Two of us were living in the north east!

How low can you go?

Cheers

Bruce

Ma, Den and Pete once arrived at an away match against Crewe, unaware that the game had been called off 4 hours earlier due to snow, so if that counts (probably not) that's three.

The smallest away crowd i was ever in was 13 at Hartlepool. Me and a mate decided that Hartlepool needed to be knocked off the list of grounds to do and with little coach travel at that time we made a weekend of it in York.

Stoody on a bloody freezing open terrace (what is now the home town end terrace). Clear blue skies all day but about minus 10, half time one big cloud came over and snowed like hell and then moved off. A Loram penalty equalising making us happy.

Thought at the time "wont be coming back here again" but now have had plenty of weekends up there.

Talking of small away crowds: On bank holiday monday whilst we had 500 odd supporters at Burton, Crawley took just "70" to Newport. Only come out for the big games by the look of it and had a crowd under 3000 at home too saturday.

Was the smallest away following of the entire league that day, which when you consider that they're top of the league and there's part-time sides in the division who have taken single figures to games this season, shows their support for what it is.

Let's just hope we won't be playing them next season eh... Either way, I am going to put my neck on the line and say that by 2015 they will be in the Conference South.

Workington took 3 to Torquay in their last season as a football league club. My friend who is a Workington fan sent me a clip from you tube where the local television did an interview with the Workington supporters club. I will see if I can dig it out.

Lewes took less than 10 to Torquay in the conference

Which year, first or second?

I did once hear the story of a fan who travelled to an away match, alone. He went by train and such was the impression his dedication made upon the team that they gave him a ride home on the team bus and he is now allowed to travel on it whenever he likes. Sorry about lack of detail, but that's all I can remember.

Would have loved to have heard the chants to that...
"there's only one person singing, one person singing..."

There were four of us at Colchester in the late 1980s, the first game Colchester had an away supporters ban. Living in Essex I joined as a member and took two guests, and we met one other Torquay fan who'd got a Colchester fan to sign him in as a guest. We got a mention in the East Anglian Times and a wave from Kenny Allen as the players went off - I'm pretty sure we won too.

Tranmere '89...two of us from up here plus ONE legendary lone ranger who made the Monday night trip Han Solo.
A steward took pity on us and let us sit in the warm seats with Ian St. John.
It was grim.
