Don't really know what to say, didn't get to study them too much but as I don't qualify for U18 now (although I might try), it's quite a step up.

interesting that we've introduced categories to matches for the first time ever (?), a quid on top of this season is ok i guess, vat accounts for a large propotion of this tho, as the club correctly state.

i imagine there'll be a large number of cat a games, the police are surely gonna want/need to get involved again if we do go up and the raging northern hordes descend upon us!!

i wonder how much the 85 or so of us who pay for the membership scheme will be charged?? only managed one home game, so poor value personally but i'm pleased to be able to chip in my £15 per month whatever

I would imagine the cat a games are mainly for if we go up? I can see the 2 Sheffields/Charlton/Greeks/Yeovil, Huddersfield and/or Ballmouth if neither goes up, being full and needing extra rozzers. If we dont go up then probably Brizzle/Swindon/Gargs would be about it.

Like you I have only managed 1 game from my membership this year so the club must love us!

I reckon they'll keep the membership scheme the same. I managed 5 games for my £100 joining fee and notice whenever you go through the turnstiles they check your number off 'ze list'

Therefore, I reckon the club have very good stats on who attends and doesnt and can afford to continue keeping the membership around the same level.

Anyway, wernt they or Stadium Manager advertising earlier on this season expanded plans for the membership scheme.

It's a bold decision and brave decision when considering the club did not manage to attract even 2000 hardy souls for many matches last year.

In fact you can count the times that Plainmoor was more than 50% full for a league match on the fingers (of a Devon farm worker) of one hand.

I will always buy a season ticket, luckily I can afford it, even tough I miss 4 or 5 matches from being out of the country each year, BUT I remember the times I could not afford a ticket and used to choose which matches I attended. Those times are tough for true supporters.

As I have said many times before, I am not the person the club needs to attract, nor are most of you, as we go anyway, even when we are crap! ....but think about a family of 4, considering going to a match , well its going to cost them more than £55 to see the gulls next year.....no one can possibly say that is value when it buys the same family half of a season ticket for Paignton Zoo for the whole year.

....by the way, I do not remember the board reducing prices when VAT when down 2.5%, so for them to say they absorbed a VAT increase (after only a year at the lower rate) is total bollocks.

Sometimes, I feel the board deserve the gates they get!

The rate went down from 17.5% to 15%, but is now 20%, so they are now paying 2.5% more than 3 years ago and 5% more than a year ago (or there abouts). That's like losing 100 people in every 2000 on a match day. We paid £16 in our second year in the Conference, so to be asked to pay £17 in L1 next year (possibly) is hardly a liberty. Yes, taking a family to football is expensive, but A. It's a damn sight cheaper than going to Man Utd. B. There are teams in L2 asking £20, so relatively speaking, it's not badly priced. C. Nothing is cheap these days, I paid 9p for economy beans the other day. 9p! They used to be eight ninths that price!

to be honest mid devon there wont be many teams that dont put their prices up for next season.

today £18??? shocking, especially as it would have even taken usain bolt 20mins to reach the bl**dy pitch!!

Unfortunately, supply and demand doesn't really seem relevant to Torquay. If we reduce the prices to a level where we would fill the ground every week (probably about 50p/ticket) the club would go bust in days.

Thats a pretty naive way of looking at it Mid. Staff have to be paid, bills need paying and you can be sure bills are going to be rising. The board cant keep running the club at a loss and dipping into their own pockets to stay afloat...The only places that supply and demand comes into effect in football are the likes of Arse, Salford, Chelski etc. Nowhere apart from a few premier clubs have more demand than supply...

A bloke with 2 u16's will cost £30 on the popside for a "cat a" match. OK, youve got to add on for chips etc (but thats the same at any other attraction, {or take your own sarnies}).
Same bloke will pay £28 for 15 minutes in the bloody ballon or, equally, pay £22.70 to walk round the model village for an hour. Unless you just want to sit on a beach, everything costs...
