How tortuous was that (listening to RD!)

Post by CP Gull »

Not only was it bad enough that for most of the first 70 minutes results were going against us today but what made it worse was that every time Julian Gaunt announced there was a goal (while steadfastly refusing to announce who it had gone to!) we were then made to endure listening to about a minute of silence when we went to either the B2 net or the Broadhall Way!!!! Only at the end of the break in transmission did we find out which way it had gone!

The worst bit though had to be when he (Gaunt) announced that Gillingham had equalised at the B2 net (just after the BBC Final Score had flashed up Stevenage had equalised to make it 3-3 v Bury) to make it 2-2 .... only for David Thomas (thank gawd) to correct him and confiorm that it was Stevenage who had equalised (which I already knew) rather than Gillingham which would have been a real double whammy in the space of a minute I can tell you!

Good old Radio Devon, eh!

Never mind, alls well that ends well!!!

Yeah, it pissed me off likewise. I had multi tabs open so I could go to updates as and when necessary.

Never listen to the radio in crunch games. I respect that the drama needs hamming up for the radio to make games sound more exciting - but for games like today it increases the torture 10 fold.

I'm sure my health took a battering on that league one relegation final day (and the Barnet relegation face off) - didn't want to repeat that - so this time I just slept until midway through the second half.
