Tim Sills

Yet again poor old Sillsy has been let go but this time by Aldershot. I feel his league days are over and i hope he can find himself a decent BSP side and play regular football.

On the other hand Marvin Morgan as left too. Hes worth giving an offer i think. Hes big and scores goals. :goal:

Marvin Morgan could be a good acquisition, but showed by his twitter rant that he needs to grow up a bit (mentally, as he's 6ft 5). Didn't score whilst at Dagenham but I bet he set up a few.

Would love Morgan, something different to what we have now.

Tim Sills did it for us when it mattered . . . and that's what counts.

Tim Sills will always be a legend at this club, and rightly so. He was fantastic in the BSP, and scored the goal that ultimately regained our League status.

But it's time to admit he's not a League footballer. A succession of League managers can not be wrong. He's had plenty of opportunities now. He'll be an excellent signing for a BSP club this summer.

I'd take him back tomorrow and can't believe we couldn't find space for a target man in our squad.

Don't think in a month of Sundays it would happen though.

I do think every squad at this level does need a target man they can turn to when other plans don't work but i think Buckle is trying to move away from that style of play, as Gritton was the last traditional centre-forward we had at the club, and he was only sparsely used in games. I think Buckle wants his teams to be known for their style of football but personally, i don't think that this should be done to the extent of not at least have the option of a more direct gameplan from the bench. But who am i to disagree with the mighty Buckle who got us into the playoffs! :)

Marvin Morgan would do for me too, I remember us being linked with him back in his Woking days, did well for Aldershot and would definitely be that something different.

If we're going to move forward then we can't look back. Tim did an amazing job for us to get us back in the league but he's shown time and time again that he can't quite make that step up.
I'd much rather have the good memories than have him back and become disillusioned.

what sills did in his relatively short time at the club, will remain in the record books, and the memories forever. and we thank you for that Sillsy.

what he does well, he does very well, but simply wasn't good enough, or versatile enough for league2. he needed more to his game, more pace, as better defenders work his game out pretty quickly, and generally shut him out of the game easily. that's not meant as a criticism, just an honest assessment.

not only did he do a great job for us, but he's a really nice guy to boot, so i hope he finds a (BSP) club soon, and helps them in the way he helped us.

Sillsy would be a good acquisition should we lose the play offs and stay in league 2 as he deffo is not league 1 quality. disagree though that he cannot do a job for us at league 2 level.
