Just got through to sam platt's, i asked if the pub had been allocated to torquay and he said yes, the pub opens from 10AM, and has a marque outside which will hold 250 people, the pub itself holds 600 people and its built on 2 levels, and there is a bar in every area of the pub, including the marque, and as regiment already pointed out you are alowed children in the pub this to me sounds like the pub of our choice?
It's just along the canal and it is a ver big pub as you can tell by the capacity, it is about 5 minutes walk from the ground, and is along the east end of the ground, opposite to the end we are in :S this has been given to us as our designated pub form the greater manchester police
any more info add here guys

Cheers. If this is the one most people are going to would it be a good idea to make the thread a Sticky?

If 'most' of us are going to end up in a pub that holds 600, ticket sales really are poor...

i'll be there. huge pub, well used to catering for football crowds, should be excellent.
as for people's concerns about it being wrong end of the stadium, don't worry, with the ticket fiasco, we could be sitting anywhere once we get there !!!!!

I did think after I had posted, it should of been a general Torquay pub thread but I doubt EVERYONE will want to go to a pub. So there will be plenty of pubs in the area for us all.

it sounds like a lot of supporters are hoping to go to the trafford pub before the game. obviously everyone is free to choose for themselves where they go, but according to the local police up there, we've been given the quays/trafford road area, in particular the Samuel Platt, and boro have been given the stretford/chester road area, which incorporates the trafford pub. i'm not aware of the trafford being allocated to boro, but the police up there are very strict on keeping opposing fans apart in the pubs/bars, so worth bearing in mind if you're planning on trying the trafford pub.

Does anyone who is staying over in Manchester on Saturday have details of where the Champions League final will be shown on a big screen-ie not in a pub but public place?
So far I've only located a showing at the Odeon Printworks-free but tickets need to be purchased in advance.
