Just been looking at the average attendance, currently standing at 3,330 - currently on track for the highest average attendance in 20 years when the club had a season in League 1 under Leroy (average 3,511). Only once since then has the average exceed 3,000 - in 07/08 in Buckle's first season in the conference when the average was 3,171 and that was boosted by the full house against Exeter.
Its a tremendous response from the town and hopefully this energy can be maintained.

It is testament to the fan base and the ownership.
Particularly impressive given the average away following at Plainmoor this year must be double figures.

Absolutely superb. If we can get higher up and engage with younger fans after years of doing nothing, we can increase this even more.
Budget-wise, with increased attendance, hospitality sales, merchandise sales and the cash injection from the fan share issue, we must be looking at the healthiest we have possibly ever.

I mean teams away at Plainmoor. Happy to be corrected but I get the impression quite a few home games have seen very few travelling away fans.

I doubt that the average away support is any more than 150 and maybe a lot less. WSM arrived at Plainmoor with under 100.....and was for a "local" top of the table side.
Our Yellow Army have made a difference this season with great numbers at home and away.
The average away attendance at Plainmoor this seasin is 69.00.

Sorry gullsgullsgulls my mistake I thought you meant our away following.
Yes away support coming to Plainmoor is normally well below 100.
If you look at each Match Report I think it shows the attendance and the away fans numbers.
The game I always remember was an F A Cup game against F C United of Manchester. They seemed to fill the away end. Amazing support.

Gulliball only just read your post above about away attendances.
Do you know the number for F C United of Manchester I think it was an F A Cup game in the last 10 years.

Thanks so much UnitedinDevon 10 years ago this coming February how time flies.
Amazing crowd for an FA Trophy Match and the away support was up with the very best considering the distance they had to travel.

There is also a debate on attendances on Beyond the Penn Inn Roundabout and, as I've used Gulliball's data, I quote:
This from Merse:
We ended 2018-19 season with an average home (attendance) of 2,551...way short of today's current average which is 3,327 and was a quarter higher than Woking who were the next best supported side in the NLS in that season.
This from me:
The average from and including Welling just before Christmas 2018 was 3,127 (based on data collected by and with thanks to Gulliball) which included a bumper 5,297 for the last game anticlimax.
In fact only the two Christmas and New Year attendances plus the last two of that season were over 3,000! All the rest were in the 1,000's and 2,000's and the lowest was, wait for it, against Hemel Hempstead with just 1,409 (inc 70 away fans) in attendance. That was in the fourth home match so it wasn't on a cold Tuesday night in February.
The difference this season is optimism from the first match!

With ongoing thanks to Gulliball (but with no thanks to away fans!) I see that the average is now above that of Leroy's season in league 1, standing at 3,580. I know that the season isn't over but when did we last better that?

The crowds this season have surpassed my wildest expectations.
I am presuming that the crowds include a chunk of community tickets given out for the away end? Is that the case? What sort of numbers of the overall crowd are these adding? What was the final season ticket count? Even when such schemes have been used before, it has not had the uptake as it is having this season.
To get nigh on 4 and a half thousand home fans through the turnstiles, whatever the offer is, is a real achievement and testament to the good will at the moment. The board continues to support the manager as demonstrated by the acquisition of Jay - a real statement of intention, so it is great that the Torbay public are supporting them too.
